Still here, ill throw you a bone - As of the 6th of October All $1000 races have been cancelled, thats 2 races a week have been removed from our programming in order to pay for Globe Derbys extra money. So if anyone out there thinks Globe Derby is gonna help this industry think again !!!!!!

They have now resorted to cutting races to help Globe Derby cover its losses

IRONMAN,

you a source of knowledge, how come there being so "generous" and waiting till 6th of october to start cutting these races out?

these $1000 races im hoping are being cut from the sat night programs as it makes the SA racing look like a total joke!!

POWERWATCHER,

They stopped running $1000 races on Sat night some time ago, (at least a few months) 1 x $1000 race is programmed for Mondays and Fridays, they have now been cancelled as from the 6th - i shouldnt state it as a fact that the money is being given to Globe but im pretty sure this is correct - time will tell.
If this is found to be true it goes to show what Globe Derby is all about doesnt it, they pretty much forced Harness racing SA to increase its race day payments knowing full well it would come straight out of stake money.

Heres an idea, lets stop this varying prize money rubbish and go with the following. Ive done a few calculations and this would cost no more than what they currently provide.

Mondays 7 Races at $1000 (penalty free)Penalty free races are popular with owners and trainers.
Fridays 7 Races at $2000 (R front) combined with a penalty free race means you can race for 3k for your R front.
Saturdays 7 Races at $6000 (C front) combined with penalty free and R front you can now hit a C front which would be the equivelent to racing a C front for $9000.

seems to easy and therefore the board wont take any notice of it as they like doing everything the hard ways!!

at end of the day, all it takes is for the sponsorship person to get off there chair and go out and source some form of sponsorship...

K.Seymour has gave the industry a kick along, so its about time the board followed suit..

Without a doubt the best post you've put up IRONMAN....

Seems a very logical idea and gives owners a chance to get some money for each horse and gives a trainers a good chance to program a horses schedule far better.
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined

IRONMAN has some great ideas and is obviously a very smart thinker. He is the type of person who should be running the industry. I say: get rid of all boards, comittees, chairmen, etc, and put one good man, such as IRONMAN, in charge. He could probably run the whole business on his own.
Keep up the good work IRONMAN.
