I think these three illustrate the difference in standard between Divs 4/3/2/1...nuggety goodness wrote:Seaton up in 07, down in 08
SMOSH up in 07, down in 08
Salisbury up in 07, down in 08
thoughts anyone...?

Golden Grove have all the right ingredients and could conceivably go up again next year...

Pag wrote:I don't think it is mate, not as much as the higher Divs anyway. Golden Grove could go straight through without any problem, I know we went from Div 6-Div 3 a few years back, Para Hills went straight from Div 5-Div 3, Mitcham almost did, even Fitzroy last year after starting slowly won 8 out of their last 10 or something when they got themselves right.
So to answer your question, there isn't a lot of difference I wouldn't think.

obviously golden grove cause they recruited well and have a good young group.
but what about smosh and salisbury??
did they loose heaps of players, did they not recruit or are they not good enough for the next divison???
seaton lost a few players and there coach, IMO thats y they struggled!!
what are the chances of Golden Grove going up 3 divs in 3 years???
and who do people think will come straight back down next season??

SMOSH got hit by injuries to there experienced players.... lost goals scoring options and alot of midfielders so made it hard for them to score winning amounts. they were competative in the first half of the year then struggled massively after that

was there to many injuries and people unavailable or is there depth not that good??
I thought smosh had a very strong B grade
some of those blokes could have come up and filled the gap surely??

That's a hard one to ask at the moment mate, with 1/4 of those clubs still not knowing what division they're playing in yet...nuggety goodness wrote:what about Brahma Lodge???
mass exodus or something?
and which sides will struggle heading up this year or dominate heading down?

They are also working on forming a new committee, they will also be aggressively recruiting quality players to the club and expect to hold onto 90% of current players – there always be some retirements.
I expect a new Brahma Lodge next year as the people involved wont accept anything but success.
