I have seen a little bit of talk, but in all, what did everyone think of the teams?

It's a bloody hard job and would hate to have been responsible for picking one of the REAL ones

I didn't envy your task1 little bit but, i would have thought a guy playing 70% of the games in a Div 1 team in the backlines would be selected in the 18 before a div 7 player, e.g. Trevor Petrus.

FC your thoughts

As i said it was mainly a bit of fun, and not meant to be taken too seriously..there were probably another half a dozen div 1 and Div 1R players that I'm not even aware of so the list could go on and on and on.. but fair call though...

and in hindsight he probably should have taken Darringtons place (but these are always afterthoughts of course )

Anyway, there's 9 on the bench, thats room for a LOT of rotation..

i'd say the div 7 team of the year is just about spot on probably a 9 and half if not a 10/10!

Probably would have just swapped the C and VC. Golding had a better year, and they finished higher on the ladder.

I also think Golding produced more from his side when the chips looked like being down, especially in the 2nd half of the season..I think they won 7 or 8 straight?

Burrows captained 6 straight losses..

Hardly his fault i would have thought though.Didnt think criteria for being good captain was based solely on winning?Would you rate Matthew Pavlich a good captain?

I see your point, of course Captaincy is not based solely on winning, however, a captain needs the leadership qualities to lift a team.

i watched him play 2 games this year and in both he started out of the goal square so it was obviously more than once he started there.

No, Waltham played out of the square all day but Byrne did spend time back there with him. He basically roamed between CHF and the goal square. I didnt have any beers that day. IMO, Byrne plays more like a full forward than CHF - he doesnt work hard enough.

I think Waltham has a 10 metre rope tied between his leg and the goal post...
