Selected quotes on an article by Brigid O'connell Melbourne

ADVERTISER ARTICLE
The salty yeast spread which hit AU shelves in 1923 has proved a real winner.
The spread then called Parwill was given away with Kraft cheese for 2 years from 1935.
Its travelled with our athletes to Olmpics, following our troops.
It typifies the unique Aussie spirit.

FACTS
22.7 million jars of VEG are manufactured in AU every year, thats 235 JARS a minute
In 1952 Kraft released the Happy Little Vegemite jingle
_________________________________________________________________________________

For 9 decades VEG has been consumed
I am a VEG eater, have been for long time
HOWEVER
The food police have this to say

From Bill Statham + his published book THE CHEMICAL MAZE [the Food bible]

Never have been able to get "into" Vegemite....maybe the fact that my mother ate it straight from the jar while pregnant has ruined the experience for me.....PROMITE all the way for me.

Had four jars of "-mite" on the breakfast table when I was a lad

Mum - Vegemite
Dad - Marmite or Mightymite (depend on the mood)
ME - Promite
