Looks like Salisbury will be i div 3 and Unley in div 4.

Having seen Greenacres and Saisbury West this year I'd expect Greenies to beat them.

surely Pooraka would finish higher than 9th? unless they have lost players from this year?

I, and others I know, are going to follow GGFC results closely next season.
Never has a promoted side rated themselves as highly as Golden Grove I would've thought.
Top 4?? others talking Minor Premierships??
Why would you possibly think you deserve to finish above Nth Haven and pooraka, regular Div 4 finalists, before you have even played anyone?
Very confident club, can't wait to see how they go...

Hmmm, wouldnt have us in the top 4 yet. Its good to confident but cant get too far ahead of ourselves. Very well to be proud of what we have achieved over the last few years but have to earn our stripes in a new div, as we did last season.

Not sure where the idea of minor premiers has come from.
I wouldnt read anything into the poll results. Better reflection of how many GG posters are around rather than an educated estimate.

As Pag ahs pointed out a few times on various threads, im the king of clicher and underselling ourselves and at this level of footy thats the only way to be. Your exaclty right in saying why should we rate ourselves as a top 4 side when we are yet to set foot on the park. Last year we did our very best to keep our results low key and just go about our business. Hopefully we can continue the trend

One of the most exciting things about having a young and talented squad is that the players are full of confidence. Confidence in their own ability, their ability to improve and take the next step, the ability of the coach and his gameplan etc etc. This is often the main ingredient in a succesful football club culture. Winning culture grows a confident winning attitude. We are doing our best to adopt that.

Reality is the very best people in the world with what they do, be it sport, business or politics flirt with and walk a fine line between confidence and cockiness. All excellent atheltes, phelps, jordan, armstrong to name a few, have qualities of both confidence and cockiness. Its a good thing and our young guys are very much of the same mould

That's all good. And good luck to ya.
But will like to see your 'confident' young players against hardened-experienced bodies from Nth. Haven, Salisburys etc...
Might be more challenging than you think

We are not expecting an easy ride.
If you saw the grand final, it could be claimed, although not necessarily intimidators or instigators, gave it back just as hard to a much bigger and mature greenacres side.

With the average of the side probably tipping into 21/22 this year, ther are going to be obvious areas such as body size and physical prescence that we lack. The same was said last year. Hopefully with some hard yards in the gym over summer, coupled with some natural maturation, we can continue to prove the doubters wrong.

It wouldnt look very good if I said that my own club would finish 10th would it, what you call overconfidence is what I call being loyal and optomistic, the truth is I think Golden Grove will finish 4th-6th.

Haha no worries.
I guess putting a ladder prediction in on Oct 12th says it all.

Dont worry ive got the balls to say what i like when something gets me.

If i came out and said 'yeah we are going back to back to back to back' and the 'other clubs are just peons and worthless scum, wasting our time as we demolish there attempt to stop us on a victorious march to div 1', im not going to win very many friends or have a highly respected opinion. Futher more tryng to justify myself to the narrow minded folk who are obviously my intellectual inferior would be a further waste of valuable time.

That said, i obviously dont hold an opinion close to what i have said above. Im not that far up my own arse that i cant see that this season will be more of a struggle than last.

For the time being, ill continue to play it cool 8)

Apologies for not being more extroverted and being the kind of person that filters most thing between brain and mouth.

Just because it seems company line doesnt mean i dont hold it as opinion. Take me seriously or not. I dont care. I can only hope team we come up against take us a seriously as you take my posting. Be a few more 18 goals quarters to add to the one we had against IF last year

BB..just a quick update..our average "A" grade player age this year was 22.7 so dont be fooled into thinking that your boys are the only ones to be growing up and maturing..we played against a couple of the teams we play in 2009 in div5 last year 2007 and they were good..very good..and they were not the best teams running around in div 4 this year..having said that I am sure that someone of your intellect will figure out what Im getting at
