From the Advertiser:

Gill adds some spice
by Warren Partland
7 July 2006

Norht Adelaide's forward line has been bolstered with the inclusion of strong-marking Nick Gill for tomorrow's clash with South Adelaide at Prospect Oval.

This clash already loomed as an attacking feast. Now the presence of Gill at centre half-forward has given the contest added spice.

The Roosters also regained tough defender Brett White and teenager Shane Edwards.

North Adelaide, pushed to provide entertainment and attacking flair by coach Andrew Jarman, is the heaviest scoring side in the competition.

South Adelaide, given a licence to run by coach Robert Pyman, is the second-heaviest scoring side. When the teams last met - in round two at Noarlunga Oval - there were 39 goals kicked in a high-scoring affair won by North by 18 points.

Given suitable conditions the goal umpires can expect another busy afternoon.

The talent-laden Roosters are on top of the ladder with just two losses and justifiably are being talked up as premiership favourites.

The Panthers have been ultra impressive in the past two weeks, smashing the Port Adelaide Magpies by 107 points and then Sturt by 90 points.

They have climbed into fifth spot on the ladder and set themselves up for a charge at that elusive finals spot. Now they have the opportunity to test themselves against the SANFL pacesetter.

Their quest for victory has been boosted with the return from suspension of strong-running David Clarke.

"This is a wonderfule challenge - to play a team on top of the ladder on their home deck," Pyman said.

"We are excited about the challenge. The past five games have been very consistent and we are showing some reward for the effort the players have put in."

"We won't change the way we are going about things. The last time we played there were some big scores kicked by both sides."

The Panthers will be hoping for another goal haul from Ben Warren and Damian Cupido, who kicked 11 goals against the Blues.

Great game by a WONDERFUL TEAM :D :D especially being down at half time by 35 points. It was a fantastic call by the Life FM team & how great it was to hear the whole broadcast (while living in Sydney). Congratulations all round to THE MIGHTY ROOSTERS & ANDREW JARMAN as well as to the Life FM coverage. Also great to see that Scott Bamford has been made a Lifetime member of the NAFC - very well deserved.

Awesome Awesome game, up to today I thought the North v Glenelg game at the Bay was the best game I'd seen in a while but this game overtook it comfortably.
South went from being down 7 goals to 2 goals to being up 12 goals to 7 goals and it wasn't because North were bad, just that South were just that damned good for that quarter.
Fantastic game, full credit to both sides especially North.
Its a shame that some fans of other clubs don't get to see games like that today, a completely different level to most games as far as a spectacle goes.
