5RPH's call today (8/7/06)

Postby Wedgie » Sat Jul 08, 2006 11:06 pm

It was great to hear DB, Phil and Smithy calling the West today without the "interruption" who is sometimes the 2nd or 3rd man on the team.

Phil, I hope you read this, your wealth of SANFL knowledge has always been great to listen to but your commentary has gone to another level this year and I know you'd be embarassed when I say you've gone past DB, Smithy and the clown Blandis as the best commentator on 5RPH. You are fantastic to listen to and have turned into an absolute professional who is a pleasure to listen to.

I don't know if you'd want it, but if it came down to talent alone you'd easily get a gig on one of the bigger stations calling AFL but from a purely selfish point of view I hope it never happens although it would be a good way for a great talent to make a living.

Great work champ and well done to DB and Smithy too who I'm not putting down who are also doing a great job. I think one of things that stood out in the hour I was listening today was no stupid nicknames that have come up earlier this year with other games.

Keep up the great work 5RPH.

(Apologies to LifeFM but I wont get to hear you until I watch the DVD of today's game, I'll give you guys some feedback then ;))

I might put up a poll later this year to get others opinions, would be an interesting feedback mechanism to those involved.

PS Jimmy, you got another mention today when they mentioned "Jimmy from New York" who listens to 5RPH! :D

LOL!

Sounds like a 'Coodabeen Champions' caller.
