Totally agree rod. I thought it was a very sporting declaration yesterday and a great fightback by the boys. Boof would've done exactly the same, make a game of it, go for the six points. I'm very encouraged by these early signs.

Vics all out for 151. Lead of 267. Late flurry from Harwood has probably put the game out of reach for SA. Will have 2 full sessions to try and pull off a most unlikely win. The Vics winning is certainly not out of the question either and unfortunately i still think is probably the most likely result apart from the draw.

Half a chance now. Will have to bat well and quicker than the first innings. What I'd really like to see is one of the young guys hit a quick 50.

It's going to be an exciting afternoon of cricket at Adelaide Oval!

# 2008-10-17 13:43
Over 46.4: O'Brien to Harwood, no run, OUT, trapped in front, gne for 31, 151 all out and a lead of 267. 61 overs left for SA to get 268. Time for Lunch and a breather

268 to win from 61 overs. It's a big ask but maybe the boys have a bit of confidence now.

Another ton for Klinger would be pretty handy.

Would love to have Cosgrove in the side now. We'd be a much better chance of chasing this total with Big Cossie there.

Need Ferguson to do something. He is the key along with Klinger.

Oh dear, Plant is gone for a duck.

Over 1.2: McKay to Plant, no run, OUT, has a nervous poke at one outside off and gets a touch -- 1/2

Doesn't look as though we are trying to go for the win. Only 1 run scored in the last 3 overs and 5 in the last 4.

Edit: perhaps we are chasing after all. 6 runs off the last 2 balls

I still think cleary was the man to open..if we were going to win he was not going to be needed at 8 so opening the batting and ending up having manou/plant batting at 8 could allow for some big hitting near the end and cleary at the start for SA to have a chance of making the runs!
Could Harwood rip through us?

Mate at the ground just text me and said during the drinks break Harwood switched Harris and Klingers bats. They didn't notice straight away, apparently was pretty funny!!

note : they didn't face a ball with the wrong bat, just in case someone on here goes off...
