way off the mark. bit of history between bh and a couple of people still involved at gx. my (educated) guess would be maybe another northern suburbs club close to ep but lower in div...
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

i know Payney applied for the EP job with a little bit more renumeration than last year because the club is not rolling in the cash, and know i hear the new coach for 09 is getting more than what Payney was asking for...........weird call.
does that mean the club didnt think he could consolidate in A2 as it seems the money side of things didnt come into it.
I dont think him applying anywhere else had a bearing on the clubs decision not to reappoint, the winning applicant must have impressed them but gee wiz this is a big call for the footy club.
If players leave because of this appointment then so be it, clubs need people to play for the club not the individual but i rekon payney should have got another year just to see how he faired.
I wonder if Brahma Lodge are still looking for a coach?
presentation night could be an eye opener.......might have to get myself a ticket.

Yeah strange decision that one. For a lot of years now some comittee members at EP have felt that a coach from outside the club is the way forward. Without Payney they wouldn't be in div 2 I know that for sure. They have made their bed and will now have to lay in it....minus some quality players I would suggest.....

let me clarify why i think the ex coach of EP would be a bit bitter AT THE MOMENT.
to find out you haven't got the job from someone from a different league would piss anyone off a bit. Unssucessful coaches should be informed asap from the selection panel and not get it second hand.
i know payney would be wishing the club & successful coach all the best for 09 and im sure presentation night will just be another get together with mates to celebrate having a good year.
footy is a fickle game & im sure payney will land another job to stay in the system.

i have had a chat to payney and he is looking forward to the presentation night to catch up with the players and enjoy the year that they had. this was a couple of weeks ago and with all this in mind (that he might not be coaching ep 2009)
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

having not been at the club in 2008 i am pretty sure most blokes stayed around because payney was coaching. The new coach would want to be pretty quick to get round to the 2008 playing squad and make himself feel at home or you may find a few of their top line players off to the plains and barossa league. I know that would be my first thing on my agenda.
