no prizes for guessing which trainer was visibly fuming after his race even though his horse won
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

I have seen the worst 2 drives in months at globe derby this weekend...

JB had every reason to be very upset, when that DINGO - Fizziologie put pressure on and dropped out @ the 600m....
They needed a shovel to scrape the horse off the track because of what Geoff Gee did...

The stewards need to start looking at these drives more often...
I have a real issue with $123 pops taking on $1.40 favs for a lap and getting beaten 150m....
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined

Disagree SCD
GG on FIZZY has done this b4
Last start GG took on LOST KEYS at GDP in the same manner[Lost Keys beaten fav.]
So the driver has done this twice in a row, and in a previous preperation
Im not saying its right but at least the horse is being driven in the same manner, and at least the form enthusiasts have consistency
I WOULD BE MORE CONCERNED IF THIS HORSE IS NOT DRIVEN IN THIS MANNER NEXT START

Mal that has to be one of the STUPIDESS POSTS EVER!!!!!!!!!!
What about the rule that the driver must give the horse every possible chance to obtain the best finishing place Or What about incompetance??? there's a few rules the 2 drives come under and tipping theres more that could be used.
Cos a driver drives consistently bad doesn't make it ok!!!!!!!!!
Stewards aren't doing there job!!!!!!!!

I have no problem with someone having a go with their horse cos its a competetive sport. It would be pretty boring if the favs always got all the favours out there. But if you have a go drivers have to remember the rules!!!!!!!!!! And face the penalty when it comes, But never does in this state!!!!!!!!!

CENTREMAN
My assessments made purely from a punting point of view, not moralistic not justifiable.
NEXT START
FIZZY runs again, we must all safely assume that GG will drive in a similar aggressive manner as the previous 2 starts.
When assessing the form I will take into account that whoever leads and will not hand up will get a torrid run.
Every driver out there on every frontrunner must now expect that the FIZZY will do it again.
IF GG does not drive the horse like this next start then the stewards must intervene.

As far as the drivers obligation to give the horse the best possible chance I agree 100% with you.

However its like the footy, if overzealous umpires are very hot on 50m penalties, I dont have a problem as long as that consistency is there week in week out so the players know.

Back to my original call
I WOULD BE MORE CONCERNED IF THIS HORSE IS NOT DRIVEN IN THIS MANNER NEXT START.

GG didn't do this on Fizziologee in a previous preparation, the horse was trained by Trevor and driven by Symon Kittel last prep and the hores had form beaten 8 - 10m most runs, when driven cold.

I agree with Centreman that you should be competitive, but that doesn't mean putting pressure on the leader (No matter what price the leader) when you're $123 and then drop out and get beaten 75m two weeks in a row > surely you have to ask WTF is going on.

The more i've seen over the last few weeks > the more I agree with Bayman.
Harness Racing needs to be more professional and get to a stage where we get professional drivers. It's all good for small trainers to drive their own horses like Geoff Gee does, but would Danni Hill (I'm picking her because she didn't have a drive in the race and is one of the better drivers in Adelaide) have butchered the leader like that.... IMO > no way!
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined
