At our school we have the teachers striking tomorrow and a student free day on Friday.

See if I'm close pafc1870
I think it would mean a day for professional development... as in new/up to date teaching methods, guest 'speakers' etc.
Could also be a day for communication between teachers, planning for future events etc, etc, etc.
And probably a lot harder than a normal school day.
