interesting to see how they score points for each player, i know its gone on form on the day etc but have witnessed some different players having great days, and the commentators saying it also and then finding out they dont get much after the weekend matches

They score the players using the stats from Actim, as well as standard points i.e 6 for a goal, 2 for an assist etc. Much like the AFL where they use Champion Data to rank the players, quite often the rankings don't acknowledge the bloke who gets down and dirty....
