You know he is not a "recruit" Mickyj, he's an Eagles native anyway and played pretty much all year this season for WWT

Well i know that i watched his first ever game .

BUT under the terms he was a listed AFL player who retired and signed with WWT for 2009 and goes on the sanfl list.and he is listed on the WWT homepage as a new recruit.
Would not white for north be the same ?

Fairy Nuff Mickyj...

Damon White isn't a North native so probably not...

But he was playing with them when not playing for North ?
Or do I have him confused with another white Phil ?

It's an interesting thing though. I'm not 100% clear on this, but any Crows or Power player that came from one of the 9 clubs does not train at all with their original club? It's fair enough to not class McGregor as a recruit seeing as he played 14 matches for the club this season. But would Skipworth be classed as a recruit if he does come back for next year?

I would definitely say Skipworth would be classed as a recruit, as would McGregor, although i'd probably have a * alongside his name.

You are spot on with McGregor spelly and as for Skippy, I'd say use common sense in defining him. He is "returning" to the club he started at after 2 years out of the SANFL so maybe can call him an "unnoficial recruit" returning ?

It's difficult to get a commitment from players at this early stage.

It always intrigues me that North are professional enough to announce the signing of recruits so early.

Obviously they're doing something right to please the recruits.

They've done well, but at least it should mean that they couldn't possibly afford any more similar recruits, so at least there should be something left for the rest of us.

2 more names to be announced next week

And one is likely to be a "shock" announcement if my mail is correct!

Has the "shock" announcement been made yet?

A very thorough post there Squawk, well done. Thought I'd bump it up to the front page by quoting you so people didn't have to go back to it.

According to tday's "Tiser, looks like you can add Luke Jericho to Norwood's IN list. Said he has had slight interest from Carlton and is hoping to do pre season with them but if not, he's committed to the Redlegs. I saw Luke on the poker tables at the Casino on Friday night...

Also, listening to the 5RPH Sports Show this morning, CK mentioned the Bloods might have a few recently experienced AFL players added to their list in the coming week. he went on to say they will have a strong midfield so I'm thinking one of the players might be Steven Armstrong. I was speaking to Andy Collins at the SANFL media awards a few weeks back and he said they have been speaking to him ???

Was this an 'on the record' interview?

If not, it is now. :D

No it was called "general conversation" Topsy, I just happened to be seated at the same table as the West Adelaide folk...

I'm not making any announcements, just posting what was said on the night and reading into CK's comments on air this morning...

Like all clubs, Andy Collins would have been 'speaking to' many, many players.

That doesn't mean they'll sign.

Hence, the long list of rumours/unsubstantiated gossip and guesses (eg the 'guess' that Curnow will stay at Glenelg).

Squawk, you can add Nathan Lonie to the list of OUTS for North Adelaide...

Daniel Healy mentioned on radio about a fortnight ago that he is going home back to Victoria to play with brother Ryan, who was delisted by Collingwood...

Although not officially an "IN" for Centrals in season 2009, I am really looking forward to once again seeing Leigh Westhoff back in their league side and finding the form he was in before he missed 3/4 of the season with a foot injury. He will be like a new recruit next year and let's not forget he was in good enough form in the early stages of the season that he was rewarded with a spot in the initial State League squad. I remember the great game he played on a wing in that big win the Dogs had against Port at Alberton where Havelberg kicked 9 majors.
