What I would give to roll the Hybrids at Unley this week....

1) The umpiring was atrocious. Have not seen such a poor display of umpiring in all my 52 years of watching senior football. They were biased beyond comprehension.
2) We would have won had we not been riddled with injuries and the loss of senior players.
3) We were playing mighty well until the rain came down at the 11 minute mark of the first quarter when a member in the stand reminded us all of the victory over West Adelaide last week. Had the dry conditions remained I expect we would have run out winners.
4) How can we expect to compete with sides who have established pokies. Just you wait until Bar Zaar gets going and then we'll show you who's boss.
5) The effort for last weeks thrilling victory, combined with a day less break was too much to overcome for our proud players and loyal supporters.

7) It is very hard to beat 36 players on the field (i.e. 2 clubs)

8) Borrowed from Port Adelaide magpies the TWO AFL teams have taken all OUR best players :D

I must use more emoticons for those who need help to see the bleeding obvious?    8) :) :D

Geez you bloody North supporters are unbelievable.

Drebin, however sarcastic your comments might have been, to bring out the old chestnuts such as 'the bandwagon' and referring to the club's financial plight are, if nothing else, boring.

This whole thing started because you had a crack at SP on footysa for being delighted by Sturt's win at the weekend. The club has won three games all year and was on a five match losing skid.... Newsflash, the supporters are going to be stoked and although SP's 'tears' may have been a bit rich, I say good on him for showing his delight.

I consider both Wedgie and yourself as great SANFL people who are equally as passionate about the Roosters. All I am saying is there is no need to rain on the Parade of a fan who is understandably pleased.

I guess it is similar to people constantly pointing accusations about salary cap breaches and even further back, criticising the Grog's for standing behind the plastic...... It just grates at you

Rant over, play on!!

As much as I agree with you MST - you're not exactly free of "old chestnuts" yourself.

Mate, not all people keep up with the goings on at footysa (I had no idea what you're on about).

PS If you're sick and tired of generalisations such as "bandwagon" it might be best not to start posts by saying "Geez you bloody North supporters are unbelievable." when you're referring to 1 person.

Am I am alone in appreciating the irony that MST, SP, Jimmy, Drebin, Punky & Wedgie could all have been on the same side if the mooted North & Sturt merger got up......

All one big happy family it could have been.... :D :D

This weekend could have been the Hybrid Showdown.....

There was as much chance of that happening as of Glenelg merging with South this week. :P

Speaking of helping out Sturt though, I went to the Castle Plaza yesterday while Mrs Wedgie and the kids were in "Kiddyland" across the road to sneak a couple of beers and a smoke or two in.
I was about $15 down on the pokies at one stage, and thought "ahh well, at least it goes to a good cause" before I got the free games on the machine I was playing and walked out $20 up!
Thanks for the 2 free beers and extra $10 Sturt!

PS Can't we all just agree that most people including both North and Sturt supporters will be very happy if the Mighty Double Blues knock off the hapless Eagles this weekend. Go Sturt! :D

Thanks for Squire and Atkinson Wedgie
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

No worries mate but as stated before I think you can thank McDermott and Brodie himself.

PS Thanks for Sean Gatto, he's been sensational the last couple of years, unfortunately he's out this week with an injury.
PPS No thanks for Adrian Burton, biggest hack we'd seen since Craigh Burroughs!

Personal Post

From an Eagle viewpoint - if we think we've got it won on Wednesday then we are in trouble as attitude is so important.
Likewise if Sturt feel they cant win then they probably wont.

On form we should win but last weeks form doesn't put goals on the board this week.

I hate these games when you are expected to win and should win and have been winning and others hope you fall flat on your face!

RM does Craigey pay well ?

Well cd, if Neil is on say $850,000 a year that means his fortnight pay is about $32,000. What the hell would you do with that. So therefore, yes cd, I am sure he would make your wallet a bit thicker as well.

By the way, hows the membership going at Oval Ave?

I never said Sturt will beat your mob champ? If you read the post again you will understand I am hoping for a victory rather than predicting one.

Nine victories over sixteen years is an ordinary stat, but hey, haven't the Eagles only won one Premiership from 'what' six attempts? I know which unwanted record I would prefer.

The tide will turn sooner or later little fella, maybe not this week, but it will turn because that is the cyclical nature of football.

Now haven't you got some water bottles to go and fill? :-$

Sorry,

I would prefer having made 6 grand finals than 2.

"Baby on board". Why dont you put a sign on ur car saying "adult on board" or "car stereo in use"?

You have enough from Woodville in the 80s.....

As I've said before, IMHO premierships are all that count, on that note Sturt are the 2nd most successful club of the noughties, and deserve the appropriate respect from other clubs for having won a flag where others have failed once getting to the big dance.....

This from a supporter who has witnessed 9 GFs for only 2 flags, I know better than most flags are all that count....

Well said, I'm scared because I couldn't agree with you more, I have exactly the same opinion (and respect of Sturt).
Sturt did in 1 GF against Central what the Eagles haven't been able to do in 4.
