Heard Massie and Jericho have agreed to terms with Norwood should they not be re-drafted. Apparently Campbells asking price is too high and Norwood have dropped out of that one.

Question : So who would (and I have no idea now) have the "Big Offer" in place that is going to get Bryce Campbell to their club????????

Latest Sportsbet odds lol

5/4 Sturts & Souths (Both have room in the cap for a big recruit or two, souths might offer the captaincy)

3/1 Norwood (Would have been my tip but suggestions are they will lose him)

6/1 West & Norths (Both had talks with him at one stage)

10/1 Pams & Glenelg & Eagles (all smokies, very quiet down the bay no whispers yet)

20/1 Centrals (Probably have other priorities)

I would like to see the Eagles pick him up .BUT WWT has a record of not paying large sums on Name players .So i would think they would pass on him.
And No I have no inside info on him.

Another Question to the Norwoodians

I see in your own clubs gains is Hughes, if its a friendly story then tell, what happened at the bulldogs and where did he play etc in 2008, just a football question and no hidden motive, its just an interesting mystery about this lad

Nothing "happened" at the Bulldogs, Hughesie took 2008 off as a time-out from footy , simple as that. He is on the train-on list for the Power.

Wasn't there a little bit of home sickness with Gavin as well ???

He was involved back at the Redlegs last year for periods of the season as the league runner wasn't he ???

I thought I remembered seeing his face in the yellow fluro's last season, cheers for that Squawk

His pace off a wing or even maybe as a running half back flanker will be handy for the Redlegs next year.

Back onto the Bryce Campbell saga for a second...

This is certainly just a personal opinion, but if I was a Redlegs fan I would be pretty dissapointed with Bryce out shopping himself around and if speculation is correct, putting a price tag on his head that Norwood can't afford.

I know he is not a Redleg native but he has spent quite a few years now at The Parade and I just find it a little bit sad that he is putting money over some form of loyalty. I understand he has been cut from an AFL list and lost a good salary so is looking to minimise the loss of income to the best of his ability, but surely with a good paying job and the best offer the Legs can give him, he would come in pretty comfortable.

It's just a shame that this kind of thing is going on in the SANFL and I can only imagine that it will happen more often as the years go by, or at least until there is another fairly significant increase in the SANFL salary cap.

I'd be annoyed if it was a Doggies player doing it...

BP I've heard several different stories (from what I would deem as credible sources) concerning Bryce, many of which mirror those mentioned here, and others that give a very different interpretation, in fairness to Bryce he's been unable thus far to give his account of events and as we all know there is always 2 sides to every story.

Both sides - clubs and player/managers - play ducks and drakes this time of year, I dont actually see too much of a big deal with it, it is (unfortunately) just the nature of the beast and will sort itself out eventually, one way or another.

What CP said.

Plus one more thing - the term "shopping himself around" can mean a very broad range of things. What is he was window shopping? Similar phrase, vastly different meaning...

As CP said, it will all be resolved soon enough.

Jericho surely no-chance of being drafted, he'd be lucky to get a Redleg jumper!

I believe Jericho will end up at Carlton.
Also looks like I was wrong about Massie but waiting until Official news from Norwood, bloody hope he's with us.
Talking to a source close to Bryce last Thursday, money wouldn't be the main thing keeping him from Norwood, and I sadly believe he'll head back to Wagga Wagga. :(
Been wrong before though!

Paper today confirms both Massie and Andrew Lee as signing with the Redlegs.

Massie is a huge and, to my mind anyway, unexpected bonus. Having him full time will make a big difference to the team as he's so versatile. Realistically he's still an AFL quality player cut purely becasue of 'list management' so I'm thrilled he's committed to us. Lee's an unknown prospect but the fact the Dogs were chasing him pretty hard means he must have something, let's just hope he puts his injuries behind him.

On the flip side, losing Bryce would be a massive blow but hopefully there were fallback options if the deal couldn't be made.

i'm surprised about that because i think that massie twice backed out of playing finals for norwood, but yes he is a quality player & it could well help norwood make another step forward
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway
