British Open Golf - starts tonight

Postby another grub » Tue Jul 18, 2006 2:14 pm

Anyone see any value in the golf? I think Nick OHern to be leading Aussie @ $9 is the suggested bet.... he has been working up to a good tournament.
Anyone know what this handicap betting involves it is first listed under golf on TAB sportsbet.... How does it work?

I like Lonard still - not bad odds.
Adam Scott would be my pick as to who it would be.

golf is great for a punt, as mentioned before I like jumping on after the first and/or second round on players 4-6 shots off the pace, usually huge odds and its doesnt take much to bridge the gap (i.e. I got on Ogilvy @ $26- after the first round in the US open)

The handicap betting is interesting but my take is it is just like the line betting in footy...you get their final score and then take off the handicap and the winner is the lowest score from the group...interesting but dont know if it will take off!

correct - it doesnt appeal to me unless you like a bloke with a big handicap...you would never back Tiger at scratch as he would have to win by 10 shots for you to be safe with this bet!!!

Alirght Im going to try and pull a profit out of this train wreck so far.

Just put these bets on via Betfair -

Ernie Els - $6.20 ($5-00 Centrebet)
Sergio garcia - $8.20 ($7-00 Centrebet)

Im going to lay* Tiger, not convinced he should be so short, in for a long night
