WICKET FIRST BALL OF THE DAY!

Ponting took a nice catch in the slips off of Stuart Clark's bowling.

Ryder looking a bit shaky, just knicked it through the slips. It's going to be real tough for the New Zealanders from here on in.

HUGE KNICK! through the slips and Haddin clips the edge of the gloves, should have left it, Hayden would have caught it easily.

Ryder has been hit in the nuts and is on the ground in pain. Brett Lee casually goes up and pats him on the helmet. Good to see a nice friendly match and a bit of fun out there.

Is anyone else starting to worry about Brett Lee?....apart from Ryder's aggots?

I have always rated Haddin but he must be starting to get a bit edgy. Bad shot in the 1st dig and now drops one he should have left for Haydos... Really struggling with both bat & gloves at the minute..

Better for Haddin to go for the catch rather than do what he did in India. If the keeper thinks he can glove it he should go every time.

New Zealand cruising along at 1/32.

But one quick wicket can change all of that.

Agreed but he should have a better idea of his lines than that.

I still think he the best man for the job ATM, but he needs to get his head right I think he is putting too much pressure on himself.

relax and enoy it Brad - back your skills
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Agreed but if he goes he should take it. His glovework has been less than satisfatory of late. Tough conditions in India sure but he needs to be very tidy from here on or he will be under a lot of pressure.

Ryder looks really comfortable out there, none of the bowlers are troubling him at all.

I think we need to take Brett Lee off now.

Yeah boys Haddin is struggling and that disappoints me no end. He is a much better cricketer than he has shown in his last few matches. I reckon the coach needs to sit him down and let him know that the selectors are backing him. He needs a bit of a confidence boost at the moment.

Agreed REB.
His batting is shi*e at the moment. He's trying to play the big shots too early. That's probably based on the expectations that he was going to be power hitter like Gilly.
He's obviously trying to live up to that a bit and it's now impacting on his confidence with his keeping.

I think you're right with Haddin REB. He is a much better cricketer than he has been showing lately. The batting doesn't bother me much though. He needs to get his confidence back with the gloves. That's his number one priority and he needs to get the keeping sorted out asap.
