I'm not worried Image

No... seriously... I don't have to 'worry' this year... I'm, in-between 'worrys'

Same as everything... the majority do behave, are there to celebrate their achievements/end of school, go into the 'tents' that are for celebrating, dancing, letting your hair down, actually managing to have fun without alcohol :)

The select few don't... can't handle their alcohol, make fools of themselves, do things they might regret, vandalise local businesses by way of 'keying' the glass on shop front windows via their walk between the town and the caravan park [-X

Wonder exactly how many 'oldies' leave the town for the weekend :-k

O:)

Have confidence in yourself "A Mum"....

Well.. I/we've tried very hard to turn our children into good citizens of the world Dog_ger, so fingers crossed on the above O:)

My son went last year, I was sliiiiightly worried... but all was well, my brother lives in Victor Harbor so he stayed there.
My brother's comments when he rang me the next day "A son is very responsible isn't he"
So that was nice to hear :D
Next year will be my daughters turn
Not quite sure how I might cope with that one 8-[

I went as a schoolie in 05, was the best weekend of my life. Me and 11 mates set up 3 tents on a double site in the caravan park, was just a massive tent city and a place to meet other people from around the state. Had some OLSH girls next door ( ), Modbury people on the other side and some Victor Harbor girls across the track, who wanted to stay in the caravan park for the atmosphere.

There were some dickheads there, but almost everyone were good people just having a good time. I remember getting home on the Tuesday, and the news said 27 people were arrested in Victor over the weekend, and only 3 were schoolies. Gets a bad wrap sometimes I think.

Wish I could do it again, but I go on a footy trip every October so I sorta do.

My son's turn last year - he is now living in NT - His best mate came for dinner tonight and is going down tonight - I have some experience in these matters - tell your kids - dont walk the streets late at night unless you are in a group - a lot of idiots just looking for trouble and will pick on a small group

Schoolies was great.
Went down in 04 and had a bloody ball as a year 11 and had a ball. Stayed in Middleton caravan park. Went back was a year 12 in 05 and it was awesome. Again at middleton caravan park.

Went back as a toolie last year to "supervise" the shack (only aquired in the last 2 years) as my younger bro celebrated the end of year twelve. Definatley did not set a good example.  I think there is a difference within the toolie crowd as well. I was there as much to celebrate my own birthday as anything. I only really mixed with my mates, other older people we new and the kids in my brothers year level, all of which i already new. Then of course there is the toolie who goes down to deliberatley mix and prey on the younger girls. Definatley not cool but hell if there of legal drinking age nothing is to stop them visiting the crown.

I think trouble is going to happen every year but it is in an extreme minority. Increasing police numbers to cope with demand is all you can do. What is good is that the police generally stand bakc and let everyone have there fun and only interfere when they need to.

As was said early. Schoolies like stories happen every friday and saturday night in town. Probably just as dangerous for young peope as well.

For all the older folk.....i know its a completley different kettle of fish in terms of cultural importance, but what were your folks saying about woodstock at the time???

LOL, I never made it. I had older mates whom we'd party with and if we weren't tearing it up at their homes we'd be at Rush (RIP). That was my schoolies and it lasted for three years

Can't believe I managed to pass Uni in between it all :?
