Huxtable is the best spinner in the Comp!! by far!!!!

So to beat Karoonda you are backing your batting line up to out play Karoondas batting line up??

Who is your top 6 at the club??

I don't disagree with you, mate - there aren't too many other spinners in the comp.

Our top 6 at full strength would probably be.

Gilgen
Kempe
Fidge
Puckridge
Harrowfield
Hutchinson

And with blokes to follow like Gogel (if he plays), Anderson to come after that I think we would out bat most sides, especially with our bowling line up. I mean our B grade bowling line up kept the gun Karoonda batting line up to under 140 off 40 overs a few weeks ago...

it will be interesting when karoonda meets imps in some 2 day cricket...

karoonda still managed the points thats all that matters....they made 140 odd against an imperials b grade but still got the points...

karoondas top six will be hard to dismiss

Kerr
Huxtable
Hocking
Knight
Bullard
Rudiger/Keough

would have thought a fair amount of runs will be coming off their willlows

It will be interesting, but its just a pity that we won't be able to put a full side on the park both weeks when we play them - I believe it is the first two weeks after the Xmas/New Year break. I don't think it is our top 6 that is our only strength - it is our ability to bat right down the order, which was half the reason we were able to make over 180 against Karoonda in the final last year. Given it was called off due to the heat ( I don't think we need that argument here ) but that is a tough score to chase down in a final - even tougher given Karoonda's recent history in finals    .

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens over the next 5 months of cricket. Don't you just love summer?!?

I have heard Karoonda won the one day final by 2 wickets - I don't know anymore than that though...

As for the first day of the 2 day games, all I have heard is.

Monarto all out about 210 v Imps 0/30 odd
Meningie all out for about 170-180 v Mypo 2/30 odd
Wanderers all out for about 140 v Mannum 3/40 odd after being 3/5 and then Krollig dropped not long after...

Haven't heard anything of Jervois v Karoonda, but I would imagine Karoonda would've batted first and made plenty, or Jervois batted first made a modest score and Karoonda are well on their way to chasing it down..

Karoonda won the one day final by 5 wickets with 10 overs to go. were looking like losing unitl josh rudiger came to the crease and made an unbeaten 52. Kane Roocke drunkest man in the pub at 1030.

in the 2 dayer karoonda batted and made a very modest 220 on a lightning outfield. Bruce kerr made 60, hocko 40. looked like being all out for 150 until young Max Martin and Justin Size put on about 40. Have them about 3 for 30 i think.

5 wickets? Bit different to 2 I guess... One of the girls at work told me, so that is all I was going on....

Should be able to rock and roll Jervois for about 100.....

Still a couple missing. Hutchinson pulled out on Friday due to work commitments, but is subbed in this week to bat which will be handy in the chase. Puckridge still away at Harvest but should return either for the last game before Xmas (unlikely) or for the new year. Clay Leckie took 5 wickets with the ball which shows how important he is, but he goes away again this week and won't be seen again until the new year.

There were a couple of dropped catches - none were very easy - two caught and bowled's - one nearly impossible the other probably should've been caught. Keeper dropped a one hander high to his right, and one grassed a square leg that should've been taken. A few bits and pieces that just didn't go Imps way either - a questionable umpiring decision and plenty of balls in the air just wide or just short. Need some good knocks from the co captains next week and the openers to push on for a bit longer and should be able to chase the runs required. Outfield at Johnstone Park was also very quick on Saturday - most balls that beat the infield carried on to the fence.

Yep, Imps rolled for about 115 (batting one short due to a player being sick) - last I heard Monarto were 2/40 in the second dig with a few dropped catches.

Wanderers bowled Mannum out for 90.

Thats all I know....

Karoonda rolled Jervois for 70 odd and then batted 7 or 8 over and were 1 for 80 odd

then rolled Jervois for 40 odd in the 2nd innings

Murray towns not murraylands hence MTCA, but anyway good to see some good games with some surprise wins. Is the mannum winning run over? cant see them beating the likes of Karoonda or imps. when the pressure comes on later in the season i can only see 3 teams having a chance. Karoonda, imps and the underdog mypo. who do people think is the most valuable player for each team?

The young wicket-keepers are key players in the Mypo"Freestone", Imps"Trenordan" and Monarto"Menagetti" line-ups all being under 20 and can all make some runs with the bat.
and then in the Magies line up it would be probly the like's of Hocking and Knight,
Mannum would be "Cutter"
Jervois would be "Happy" Gilmore
Wanderers ???
Menigie would be Lewis

has the U21's team been annonced?
What would be your U21 Team?

I think Abdulla and Blucher are probably the key to Wanderers.

And I reckon Jervois would be the captain Schulz - he looks like the only one who can hold a bat. They do have a couple of young bowlers who will do some damage in the years to come.

U/21 side has been selected - seems like its back to the old days where one club (usually the club with someone in charge of the side) supply's at least 80% of the players and then they just fill it up with players from other clubs.

@ pigskin - I think the Mannum run is over - I never thought their sides were that good, but they just knew how to win and with a captain like cutter you can never rule them out because he is so competitive and knows how to get under a lot of people's skins. Not having Sinko hurts them alot.
