You'd be better off putting the money in Texas Hold Em tournament TBB, heard you may be donning a red and white suit next month too, any truth there?

apparently so backy. havnt been approached officialy, but i couldnt turn down such an offer, specially if theres a few amber liquids involved in the negotiations!

A maximum of 35 points and minimum of 32 points will be allocated to each club at the beginning of each season which will apply for each senior home and away or finals SFL match. A-Grade only.

The Clubs will be allocated points annually based on the following:-
  • The bottom four Teams (as listed on the Premiership Table in the preceding year) will be allocated a total of 35 points.
  • All other Teams will be allocated a total of 32 points.

Wouldn't the points system be a bit more equitable with something like
  • 35 - 1 - 4
  • 34 - 5 - 7
  • 33 - 8 - 11
  • 32 - 12 - 15

Otherwise you might see clubs yo-yo between 7-11 and 12 - 15, which lets face it, happens already with the draw.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

?? Wouldnt that make the difference between top and bottom even bigger. What about top 1-5 - 32pts. 6 - 10 - 34pts. 11 - 15 36pts or something like that.

That is a difference of just one 3 point player per year from the top side to the bottom side.
For example. Will that be enough to help Hackham to be able to go from top to fifth in 2 years. NO
The gap needs to be bigger

Also if you went from 12th to 5th by recruiting five 3 pt players and retained them all the following year you will get back 5 pts.
By going from 12th to 5th you lose 2 pts ...35 to 33 and the following year you can then only recruit 1 player

On top of that you will also need to have the $ to recruit.
Recruiting ....A tough gig

I seem to remember being told that the 32 - 35 points gap is an SANFL rule.

As I see it, the points systems places a great emphasis on developing juniors and player retention. This will benefit the likes of Hackham in the long run, who have juniors in every grade. Realistically, Hackhams plan needs to be five year, quick fixes often have bad long term consequences.

Spoke with a good source recently who said Ben Moore will stay at Reynella but only because he doesn't want to go chopping and changing clubs at his age. He was heard to say he wasn't real impressed with Reynella over the past year and was even less impressed with the appointment of Earl as coach. Looks like Moorey will just be going through the motions as his heart isn't really with the club. On the up side it puts Reynella in the box seat to get Sherwood but they will have to fork out some major cash (big big $$$$$) as I know one particular club that is throwing him ridiculous coin. Bring out the plasmas wineflys as this one might cost you half a dozen 50 inch high definition Teac's just as a sign up.

Once again Rock, the only thing you have to say on here is to bag Reynella, is that all you have to do in life, surely there's more to your hatred for the club?
