A quality pitch????

Postby wycbloods » Tue Dec 02, 2008 11:42 am

In the Cricket Australia Cup match between Tasmania and NSW there has been some very good bowling performances which i think speak more about the pitch rather than the bowling.

Tasmania first innings dismissed for 111 in 40 overs

NSW then dismissed for 138 in 44 overs

Tasmania then dismissed for 41 in 20 overs

NSW then get the required 15 runs in 5 overs.

Mark Cameron for the blue baggers has match figures of 9/39.

Brendan Drew took 6/25 in NSW first innings.

The highest score was 35 by NSW tail ender Aaron Bird.

Is it really worth playing a game on this sort of pitch if it is all over before lunch on day 2?

Does anyone gain anything out of playing a game on this sort of pitch?

As a selector would you take any notice of the performances of a bowler in this match?
