west lakes car parking

i heard on the sports show yesterday something about west lakes implementing a system where you have to pay to park, i didnt quite hear all of it, I only heard KG repeatedly say that he wouldnt be going to west lakes if thats the case.

Did anyone else here what was said in its entirety?????

Something along the lines of them putting boom gates up at the entrances. You have to take a ticket and if you stay for longer than 3 hours they will charge you. To stop footy fans parking there on Saturdays (even though that's not the official line from the Shopping Centre).

Apparently from what I heard from work (at West Lakes) is that they'll have boom gates and ticket machines installed.

First 3 hours are free and then you'll have to pay for car parking thereafter, apparently on Football days only.

The staff I spoke to are unsure what will happen on the weekends in which they work and are obviously on shift for longer
then 3 hours. Would be bloody rough if they need to pay for parking just to ensure football go-ers do...

Came about due to people flouting the parking areas and parking in the "shopping" areas only etc.....

I know my mates were claiming to be going to the ATMS and then parking for the footy as far back as 1989, hasn't taken them long to find a system to prevent it

Heh. Late '80s, a mate of mine used to stash his scarf before driving up to the attendant and claiming "I'm just going to McDonalds". Worked every time.
