LOBETHAL LIGHTs

Postby Drop Bear » Thu Dec 04, 2008 2:53 pm

Did anyone have a look up there last year, and is it worth me driving the missus up there for a look or am I wasting my time?
I heard there was a pretty good display in North Adelaide somewhere.

always worth it, but I suggest driving up early and having some dinner somewhere and then doing the tour just as it gets dark, it'll save you a very long wait in the car...

Cheers FC. I've heard the traffic can get very very ordinary.

I think your better off staying suburbian, I took my kids last year and thought the traffic was a nightmare, there's just as many good lights in the metro area.

I agree, my kids ended up falling asleep.

Take the kids down to Olive St, at Largs North - just off Victoria Rd, behind the swim centre. Massive display, with lights and toys.

I remember one time when i was little, me, my dad and my grandparents went up there too see the lights. We went the wrong way, which lead us out of town and the traffic was that packed, we couldn't turn around, so we just skipped the lights and went home! :(

I personally don't think Lobethal is that big of a deal, you get just as good lights here, for instance, in the Northern area, i know for a fact(unless they haven't this year) that Walkley Heights always has alot of lights up.

I remember going to Lobethal a few years ago Droppie. Overated mate. I think there is better displays elsewhere around the town. I guess why Lobethal has its reputation is because every house has something up, but usually not brilliant. There are much better individual displays a lot closer to home for you than that.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!
