morphettville auditorium disgrace

Postby bayman » Fri Jul 28, 2006 7:59 pm

just went to the aud to have my footy bets & stay for the trotts & guess what CLOSED, now i know there was a law or something a while back saying they couldn't open when a metropolitan meeting is on but that must have changed because ONLY 2 WEEKS AGO they raced at gdp & the auditorium was open, these people wonder why they get bad publicity, lets face it you either open EVERY WEEK OR DONT, NOT PICK & CHOOSE

NOW WHOEVER DECISION THIS IS IT IS A DISGRACE

I BET MAL STICKS UP FOR THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i think they give him overs) dont they mal ?

not having been to the aud in a while on a friday night, i did understand that they were going to trial out having the aud open with a GDP on as well. Obviously it didnt work and they have resorted back to the old ways.

Either way not informing the public is pretty disgraceful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Id hate to be a bookie in there and being told when you have to open and close

I thought they weren't allowed to be open 1 hr before a metropolitan meeting?
Not allowed, as in legal, not as in if they feel like it.

The best idea in the world, would be, to have Licensed Bookmakers operating from the casino.
However, we live in Adelaide, so it will never happen.
Maybe the Casino should look at operating a Sports book, if they won't let Thornton & Seal in.

that 'was' the reasons given about not opening but if they were allowed to open 2 weeks ago surely that law has changed & as i said either open every week or not at all not pick'n'choose or get told yes then no & yes again etc etc

well if i was operating out of the AUD i would hate to be told when i had to be open and closed and i think it would be bad for business for both the AUD and the bookies who operate out of there.

The AUD since relocating has in my opinion been a disaster for the punter, good for pokies, the food and the service was terrible and over-priced but that may have changed. You walk into the AUD and go down into HELL to bet on the tote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the new AUD doesnt offer any incentives for people to go in there. I did like the set up of the old AUD and i liked the promo they had with the $50 bet you get a meal voucher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bookies operating out of the casino would be a good idea, or somewhere where they were allowed to do what they wanted with opening and closing times.

Guess my SP will get more work now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Auditoruim has for some time now been closed friday nights
if there is a friday night globe derby meeting as well.
That ruling has been a consistent constituent for sometime now.
However last friday night 21/07/06 it was open for whatever reason
as a one off or trial period whilst a gdp meeting was on.
My information is the bookmaker/bookmakers want it open all friday nights to
provide a service.
The fault is an administrative decision not to do with the bookies.
When Pt Pirie and Gawler are on the auditorium is open.

So yes BAYMAN i will stick up for the resident bookies in this instance.

This rule that closes the AUD is so there is no competition to on course
attendances and turnover, however the crowds there on a friday night
are virtually non existant.
These draconian outdated administrative doctrines are non sensicle.
These idiots should be more concerned about the people at tabs, pubtabs,
internet bettors, phone account bettors and sp bookies instead of worrying
about the 12 people who go the AUD friday nights.

i understand the legalities of it, what is annoying is we get told that, then 2 weeks ago open then closed tonight, so if it was legal 2 weeks ago why is it illegal tonight ?, i'm not blaming the bookies i know its not up to them or is it ? what i'm saying is let us know exactly when they're open & not maybe this week maybe the week after, they even announced on 5rph yesterday morning that it was open & i arranged what i was doing if i KNEW they were going to close i would've pop in earlier in the day had my footy bets & went to the trotts also there is no consistency with it (hours) sometimes, sometimes not

Read my lips BAYMAN

THE BOOKIE/BOOKIES WANT THE PLACE OPEN.

You should ring 5rph and the sajc, gaming and
liquor office, member of parliament, bob francis,
steve ploubidis,kg and cornsey, and the tab.

If its women, gambling or sledging i can assist, my
efforts with administrators fall on deaf ears.
