automaticwicky wrote:Indeed fitzroy got smashed but we take a few positives. Young 17 year old bowler (pidge) picked up 5/60 off 20 overs. a fair effort considering they made 330. Anyway the hot tip for next week is fitzroy over morialta with 15 players coming back into A grade next week.

Yeah I got 5/61 off 20.2

Bowled alright. They batted well though. Marshall got 97. Sucked in!!!

Never bowled that many overs before, started cramping a bit at the end.

hmmmm i'd take 97 everytime i batted young pidge..................
and in my opinion marshall is clearly in the best 3to5 batsmen of the comp. by a long way

i think automaticwicky is the best bat in the comp

If not the best then i would atleast be in the top 40 or 50. ;)

I must say i am impressed by your all round knowledge of current affairs Phantom. The comment you attributed to Pidge in regards to Marshall was only heard by a few people so F#ck knows how you know about it but bravo!

true the side hasnt been named yet so dont take it as gospel but good money says im not far off the mark.

Massive loss to the side, Reidy is a very quality bat and has wealth of experience.

Personally Bedgegood is young i would leave him out and chase someone else.. perhaps a giglio or a loechel?

hmm impressive mr holland, not a bad effort but unfortunately a little off the mark, common sense tells you mr aistrope is "too involved" with his own performances and abilities to care about others ;) :)

Ill give you some clues.. i no longer play, was not a bad batsman in my time. that will do.

actually, ur VC of the state side, surely you are privvy to some inside info.. you would surely know more than i.. care to share info? :P

bloodybouncer wrote:So phantom...have u named the squad to tour melbourne yet?

Marshall ran out for 3. The side to be announced Friday, hot tip is the following squad

R. Marshall (C) Para Vista
S. Holland (VC) Paralowie
A. Frith (Paralowie)
T. Hodson (Para Vista)
E. Vanderbyl (Western X1)
S. Aistrope (Para Vista)
R. Vanderwerf (Morialta)
J. Vines (Para Vista)
A. Gully (Enfield)
B. Reidy (Rose Park)
M. Cossens (Para Vista)
R. Muir (Western X1)
S. Clarke (Adel. Lutheran)

Looks to be a pretty strong line up. But if you look at the runs for the year NE Knights have a few in the top. And being a bit bias, Loechel, Giggs and Hoeful (top 3 run getters from last year) would be a shot. And what about Barnes, Sharkey and Balding on the bowling front. Balding is definetly the fastest bowler ive faced in the last couple of years. Nearly took my head off with one ball and got me in the shoulder next one. One things for sure though, the more good players we can put up for selection the stronger the side will be.

you make some good points there mate but the nth east. boys to me knowlage arnt that keen on the idea so in my opinion if your heart isnt in it dont do it on the balding and giggs topic again just my opinion i dont think either of them could play 5 days of cricket in a row be good if they could but i just cant see it. barnes is a differant topic all together and i'll leave that 1 alone and i have no idea who sharkey is where is he from mate?
