it was actually worth going into tonight, they seemed in control for the whole innings yet i kept thinking there's going to be a wicket & change the course of the game

Tell you what Klinger must be getting looked at by the Australian selectors. Minus his red cap he's done nothing wrong this summer and is by far the most in form batsman in the country. Ok he is not a name player but you can't keep looking past a bloke with his figures. Also he did open the bat tonight

agree with both of you rr & lk, that he (klinger) must be considered strongly for both the tours of england & south africa & he might even get a game before that, i'm sure he'd like to go back to his former home ground on boxing day & play his first test match

showed he score at better than a run a ball for a long time at the crease and can also bat a long innings in the sheild matches. He really deserves a go

Hodge has serious technical flaws in his game. Just ask REB. He would be easily exposed under swinging conditions in England. Yes Hussey has been good and also should get a tour to England. There will be 17 go so Klinger would have to be a big chance if he maintains his current form. I never said he will surely be in the starting XI just that if he maitains his current form he would have to get a spot on the tour. Look at Katich last year. The selectors rewarded his outstanding season and rightfully so.

What a fantastic chase by the Redbacks last night, a really enjoyable game to watch (yay FOX!). Really impressed with Max and Ferguson has really hit his straps as well. The Backs are probably one batsman and a couple of genuine strike bowlers away from being a legitimate force in domestic cricket. You've come a long way baby.

Boof was a South Aussie before he went and played for Victoria. Didn't like the place and came back. Plus he played a few games for SA before going over.

Klinger has paved the way for more Fringe players from other sides to come to SA next year,

The last 2 times I have heard him interviewed he has given a huge plug to the coaches and the players. If the environment down there is on the improve then others will be more likely to follow in his footsteps as you say. Even if they don't make it, having more depth will keep the playing standards up.

It sounds a lot different to where things were at 12-24 months ago.
