Yeah, but I bet you're still drinking booze as per normal??? As The Big Bang wrote different people need different stuff, but a well functioning liver can be crucial in weight loss for some people.

It's probably the wrong time of year to do it, but maybe after all the festivities are over, go without booze for a month, eat plenty of greens to cleanse the liver, stick to a low carb-low fat diet and see if you get results from your exercise.

Thats where your wrong, I've been off beer since i started - 3 weeks!

Browny, your body could be in a transitional stage. Your body will sometimes go through a period of adjustment just like a thermostat, your body could be resetting it’s internal temperature to catch up with amounts and types of fuel it’s getting. This happened to me when I began my high protein, low carb, low fat, fat loss diet. I didn't see any results in the first 2 weeks, but are now reaping the rewards. Down to 93kg from 100kg. Some people actually gain a little weight in the first 1-3 weeks of their dieting, then afterwards they begin shedding fat. Persistence is the key.

I have basically cut out fast food and alcohol, started drinking 3-4 litres of water per day and exercising every day (whether that be 3k run, exercise bike for 30 mins, or footy training) I'm also starting swimming soon.

So far I've lost between 3-4kgs in the 3 weeks I've been doing it, so shouldnt really complain!

I should add that losing weight is very expensive - I have 2 suits, 3 pairs of jeans and 8-10 nice shirts that are now all too big for me to wear. :?

Agreed, I bought 2 nice pairs of jeans in Canberra in February that had a size 40 waist which I haven't worn once. :(
Had to buy some new one's last week with a size 34 waist though! :D

Don't forget things like suits can usually be tailored and taken in if you loose weight...can save a small fortune too.

Ahhhhhh weight loss fun.
I hit the wall boys - got 99.5 kilos on November 10 and thought no fugging way am I joining the Ton Up Club.
So the diet has begun.
Lots of water, rice crackers, one big meal a day. Cut back on the intakes (one serve of dinner instead of two to three) of cereal and dairy.
Lo-carb beer. No soft drink.
Big one is that I'm not eating after 8.30pm.
Exercising 20 to 30 minutes four times a week. Plus a 15 minute stretching session each night (surprisingly this is proving to be a good work out).
After a month I'm down to 93 kilos.
I read the other day that Shane Warne is 88 kilos. If that's okay for the great man, I reckon that'll do me.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

As far as losing weight its completely useless though.

How did you come to that conclusion Wedgie? :? Any form of excercise is going to burn calories which in turn is going to help you lose weight. Its actually one of the better ones as you are getting a full body workout. If you swim for half an hour at reasonable pace compared with running for half an hour at reasonable pace, you will burn more calories by swimming.

Not necessarily Wedgie. Depends on how hard one wants to work themselves in the water. Get the heart rate up and keep it up, if you're a decent swimmer you'll be able to do this.
