Firstly, apologies for FEEDING A TROLL, but i feel this needs to be said.
RR- What a great facility you have, you're not even allowed to put up your memorabilia. Bit like renting a house but you're not allowed to move in!! If "Burfits vision" was SO great, how come he's not here to see it through, (saw a lemon and ran i reckon!)? Just like the one he did in Mt Gambier. Far more parking spaces around the oval with a cricket pitch on it than the one without? Not much planning there eh? Why is it that council is telling PLCA basically what it wants it can have, to play cricket at Ravendale? Suppose your club deligate, ( if they turned up),would've told you the answer to that. The problem you have is that life itself doesn''t revolve around Ravendale oval. Last time i was at Ravendale TFC vs BFC (1st July), what a slush hole, truely "great facility", great for footy, bit of drainage going in over summer is there, oh more expense to the ever reliable tax paxer. Did a head count that night, TFC players auction, 69, including the 6 from hockey, obviously they support it whole heartedly too. Aparently this is something the tax payer was demanding. Would've been better spent on funding the city school bus. Far more practical.
Friend of mine said to me last week, "seems they've sold the farm to keep the sheep". Pity there's no Merinos worth having, (excluding MJ & MAYBE a couple of others)
When you DO actually KNOW something worthwhile that is a fact rather than sh*t, state your case, until then piss off!!!!!

firstly bystander we have the best facility in country SA and the jelousy shown by some people is disturbing. Life may not revolve around Ravendale but it will when the grand finals, mortlocks and big events move out there. The PLFL new clubrooms would have looked good out there too, but no one can see past their nose (only Burfitt). FACT!!!
I must admit though our supporter out at Wangary yesterday was the worst I have ever seen, where have all the supporters gone? What were the crowds like at other grounds?
On a positive note...Out of the 3 sides that lost we scored the most points against the top side.

Are the wheels still on JQ? 1 goal in a game, we have a new Bostons

It was a sad weekend for Port Lincoln football.
The results say it all. We are at the cross roads and some tough decisions have to be made.
Its so simple the answer Tumby to merge with Bostons and play in the PLFL. Great Flinders to get either Ports to join their competition. Leaving EE with 4 teams and no bye. Problem solved.

I'm fairly sure there would be more politics involved in it than that. Consider also the local preferences - its not just about footy clubs and numbers - its about communities and people too. Grub - do you think it would be a possibilty to put something in the PLT about this issue about merging ? To gauge the local response?

was it 4 hours was it?

yes crunch game lost on the weekend, castley and HS missing goals from straight in front in the last quater which would've put us in front. Congrats to tumby both teams undermanned and they came away with the points. Luckily yellana thumped lock so we're still third, word is ruley kicked 13!

RR - what a sad day it is when someone makes OL look good. You've done it though.
Admittedly, one goal is deplorable. I won't shy away from that, nor will I stop supporting the cause.
Oh, another thing, sorry for giving your boys too much credit, 94 points was obviously not a generous-enough start...

Quiz - Guess the club

Which football club on the weekend in PLFL
a) Called a player count in the B Grade (no time on) in the 3rd quarter when they were kicking against a howling northerly purely as a time wasting exercise ???
b) Did not provide a time keeper for one of the 6 games ??
c) Had juniors run amok in clubrooms setting off fire extinguishers etc ??

An absolute disgrace they are and are a law unto themselves. In games where timekeepers are not provided they should be docked the points, every other club has to provide them. The League yet again does not act, except when any other club does it. Leaves a sour taste in your mouth..

Pick me, pick me - I know the answer!!!

Let's not forget the question of who was the umpire who let them call the player count when it was the runner who asked and not the Captain. So they technically cannot be reported for that - only the umpire, who as punishment cannot umpire next week and that's it.

Guess the Club:

Which football club in the PLFL
a) Had the official club Picnic on Sunday which was attended by 3 players and 1 coach.
b) Has hired the club out for Saturday nite the 26th August....this is the last minor round so we need to go somewhere else that nite
c)Has only organised one social function this year which resulted in 30 of our best drinkers spending the nite at Wangary.

That's an even better idea than Grub's kick it into the Gas Catch!! Rules need to be looked at for the B's with the time if this is actually going to happen, not just talked about in jest on here. I would have been seething Bish, perhaps you could have done the same thing yourself but you were probably down at the time I guess? How did you rate them, last time we played them they gave us our best contest for the round but I wasn't sure if it was due to Waybacks and Tasmans being depleted. Honestly thought we would struggle to win on Saturday but were far too strong with Tasmans three goals coming in the last four kicked for the match.

WCP, You guys look good things to win the Ressies flag. We will have to improve massively and you guys take a backward step for us to challenge you. One thing Rangers have in the Bs that others don't is leg speed. Absolutley carved us up, was very impressed with young Azza Foster and your silky skills were on display again.
BTB, I detect not all is well out at Windsor Ave, not the best of days for a picnic at Mikkirra mind you. Your players commitment sounds like Tasmans... Welcome to footy in the 21st century where all of the young fellas will tell you how good they are but couldn't give a rats toss bag about their club..

I agree with a previous post, a very sad weekend for Lincoln footy.. It would be unlikely that a league anywhere has had the losing sides only kick 5 goals total between them in a round.
But whats the solution, I can't see a quick fix!!!

The end result of the count was a free kick and 50m penalty to Waybacks which resulted in a goal and the captain of the side that calls the unsuccessful count is reported. The umpires were onto it pretty quickly so play was only halted for 4-5 minutes at the most. Not sure who was most disadvantaged by the call actually...don't reckon they will do it again. The fact that only one time keeper was on duty at the time (ours) may also suggest that time was accidentally stopped during the process.
Scoob, I am a bit concerned about how we are travelling (both on and off) at the mo. There is a feel of apathy at the club at the minute, and doesn't seem a great deal of effort being made to arrest the slide IMHO. I think the weekend results proved that Wally was wrong with his previous assumption about the state of the competition. Righ at this moment Rangers and Mallees are 'light years' ahead of the rest with Waybacks falling back off the pace and possibly back into the pack. Will be interesting this week, and what I saw on Saturday would suggest to me that the eagles are a real chance to knock us off.

Any news of the crisis meeting at Poole Aval tonight? Mailis that they will field an A grade only for the rest of the year, and if certain concessions/ considerations are not forthcoming from the PLFL & member clubs then yibbida yibbida, thats all folks. 2007 will be the year of the bye.

Bit different to what you posted last week btb:

We were trailing at the time yes, but had a bit of momentum. While we did get a goal out of the resultant free kick, it was a very ordinary tactic. Yeah they are a good side, they have a lot of smart footballers in their side as you know. While we lost by 3 points, it was a much better showing from us than we came up with against Tasmans the week before. We had our chances to win the game kicking against the breeze in the last but couldnt snag one. On current form MR and MP are the standouts.
