a few points:

a) Fisty, you also told me you gave him blinky bill.
b) You could tell it was whats-his name by his writing style (that of a 13 year old)
c) I wouldn't think Laslett was quite that silly
d) point B also leads me to believe what you believe about Lozza (except not dyslexic)
how would you like it Fc if i started to pick out all your faults, that would be pointless just like what you have just posted now and would take up to many pages of the forum

You can hardly say that being in a division for 4 years is unheard of.

Considering that Walkerville have played finals 3 out of the last 4 years, and were about 3 goals away from a GF a few years back when they were beaten by Athelstone is a bit more of an effort then mediocre. Constantly finishing outside the top 5 would be.

I agree that looking over Walkies time in Div 2 they have gone straight back down, maybe that is due to a loss of players or the players they have arent up to the standard of Div 2. But you wouldnt think they are the only team, in any division, who go up and then back down the next year. Salisbury have done it over Div 3 and 4 in the last few years, does that mean theydont want to be in Div 3? I doubt it.

Walkies pay out plenty to their priority boys and are too scared to make a permanent shift to a higher div because they will lose some of their favourite girls.

You have said it Suri they are not good enough to go up a div and too scared to make the changes necessary to go up.

each to their own i guess lozza. You think Walkerville are a mediocre club who are "scared" to go up a division, which i think would be disgraceful for any club to be that way. If a club doesnt want to go up to a higher division then they will never win a flag, which is why you play footy.

If you really want to go into clubs that dont want to play in a higher division look no further then SMOSH/West Lakes. Although they were going to get relegated for finishing 2nd bottom they were asked if they wanted to stay in Div 2 since Edwardstown were going to the SFL but said no. But a team like Scotch who finished bottom said they would stay up when they were asked. Perfect example, according to your thinking, of a club that is mediocre and to scared to play up.

On the other hand, hats off to Salisbury who were suppose to go back to Div 4 but when asked to stay in Div 3 they jumped at the chance

Are you saying Walkerville are mediocre but there is another mediocre club as well?

SMOSH probably made a good decision for their club. They didn't have the team to compete in div 2 and are relying on attracting young players from the school. If being down a division makes it easier to do this then they may be able to play in a higher division in the long run.

Walkerville just recruit players for big dollars who aren't good enough to play higher!

Let me try and understand you Lozza. You say that one particular club is soft and doesnt want to go up a division becasue they are scared, then on the other hand you say that a club CHOOSING to go down a division is fine. Hmmm, a bit of a contradiction Lozza.

And if Walkies get players, pay them big and they dont perform thats there bad judgement. Again, i'm pretty sure they arent the only club to have done this. If this was the case you'd think those players would be ousted due to their lack of performance or would leave because they havent got the success they were lookign for and find the next club that will pay them big buck, ahem Kilburn.

But from all reports on this thread Walkerville havent lost players from last year, or anyone that was on "big bucks" or was a fantastic player. Be interesting to see where Walkies get all their money from, no pokies, no massive sponsors to what i've been told.

Suri, I have said SMOSH had a good reason not to go up this year. Walkerville have been content to stay in div 3 for many years.

Their underperforming players don't leave because they keep on getting paid and the club is happy to stay in div 3. We used to sponsor them 7-8 years ago but stopped because the club was happy to stay where they were. And suprise suprise they have.

we have 3 times as much tradition you clown!!!
Very true 151!

I have been in the Portland clubrooms. Probably 3 photos on the wall. There is nothing showing the great history of Riverside. Some of the greats from that club must be ashamed to be associated with Portland.
when ya there this season
have a look at the wall across from the bar
plenty of riverside photos showing blokes that played state and premiership sides throughout there history!!!
think there is a few premiership shields on the wall to be seen aswell 151
so dunno what you guys are on about?!!
They weren't up when I was there in about May this year.
Obviously you had the Kilburn eyes working that day. Or just to silly (dont want to get banned for verbal abuse) you silly silly man

Maybe you didn't have them up, there was some work being done and some photos were difficult to see because there was a roped off area where work was being done. Definately bugger all photos up though.

Why does everyone think I'm from Kilburn? I just got sucked in to a silly little argument because some silly little B graders started bagging a club that I respect(because they beat us a fair bit).

Might have to wander down to a Portland game this year and see if you guys play as well as you talk. Actually, I'll take that back, you all talk like fools. If you play like you talk I'll expect some haphazard dribble. Should be lots of talk from the bench too!
