Indian cancelled tour of Pakistan: The ramifications?

Postby rod_rooster » Fri Dec 19, 2008 10:09 am

Okay so forget how this will affect relations between India ands Pakistan. Forget the affect this will have on cricket in Pakistan and worldwide. Lets get to the important issue. Will this mean Younis Khan will stay on and play for SA for the rest of the season now?

If there's no other cricket for him why not ?

What's Mohammad Yousuf doing or even Akhtar ?

Is Younis allowed to play more than a certain number of games for SA? Does anyone know if CA agreed to his signing, based on only being able to play a certain number of games?

I definitely hope he stays and plays more games for SA!

I think he has said that if the tour were to be cancelled then he would stay and play the remaining games.

Can't see there being a maximum games clause. Andy Flower wasn't restricted nor other imports in the past.

Fingers crossed. Pakistan is trying to arrange Sri Lanka to tour there in place of India though so he still might go.

Yousuf plays in the ICL these days and I believe Shoaib Akhtar is just out of favour with the selectors in a big way and will probably just stick to playing in the IPL now.

Wasim Akram has critisied this decision (and with some merit on his logic) that not touring will only show the terrorists that they can win by doing these things. There are more issues in the accusations of India that Pakistan militanmts were behind this and then the reply from Pakistan that they will not hand over ANY Pakistani nationals regardless.
