Who the hell is Batman. Are you refering to me? Ok, concerned with the club as a whole, i can accept that. But don't use bringing B graders as a barometer as respect for him as an A Grade coach.

I could tell you Batman, but supercoach Johnson would be very upset with me, as the player in question would like to announce his decission in a press conference that will be shown on Channel 7, 9 & 10 news tonight. Remember Batman, we have a B Grade at Maccy. When SJ come to the club he said that he was concerned about the club on a whole, not just the first 21 players. :D

We werent concered as a club until AFTER SJ left our club....

hey termite, i have heard that a woodards is the 3rd angaston player you have signed. and since brett woodards is training and playing with central district i can only assume it is shaun. couldnt get a kick in the b grade at angaston last year!!!!!!!! although he was a favourite of SJ the year before when played every game in the a grade. it certainly helps being the presidents son!!!!!!!!! especially as SJ wanted a 2nd year, SJ probably isnt as stupid as some think!!!!

If he was - as you say - concerned with the whole club, he wouldn't take 14 recruits in one hit. Maybe 3-4 quality plus a couple of others but being SO club-oriented would develop the existing LOCAL talent rather than upset them?!

And could any of the 8 clubs SJ has coached over the last 10 years quote the same comment about him "being concerned about the club"?? He's pretty concerned about all clubs when a job is up for offers but loses that concern pretty swiftly once he's gone....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Alice, looking back over the past few seasons at Maccy's results, why hasn't the local talent been tried by previous coaches during that period? A coach should take all this into consideration when appointed, look at who is available and recruit accordingly.
Can I suggest that the talent available at Maccy is not there so SJ needs to bring in some new guys to bolster the stocks, it might make the locals get off their collective ar$es and try a bit harder to become regular contributors.
Don't hang the guy for trying to improve the club.

jump on another thread, champ - Id say you have as much knowledge about hills footy as.......... nobody!! Maccy needs somebody who will develop their DISTRICT footy club. For years they've had ring-ins come and go - promising the world and not delivering. The best that could happen is for someone to come in and assist local blokes develop a passion for the game and to care about their club - NOT to be fly-by-nighters and piss of in a year or two

I have never met a coach LESS concerned with the B grade then SJ... He would seriously act like those not playing in the A grade even existed... was a bit of a joke how quickly he would turn on someone or all of a sudden be someones best mate. I honestly would love to see Maccy do well, and if Jonno does it for them then good on them... but my honest opinion he'll be there 10 weeks and leave

News Flash - US President-elect Barack Obama has been stripped of the 2008 Times Magazine “Person of the Year” award. With the recent news of new Maccy coach “SJ” coming on board, this has proven to overshadowing that of the 2008 US election. SJ will join elite company, sitting alongside the likes of Hitler, Stalin, Einstein and many other fine leaders. His fine leadership skills have been highlighted by his loyal followers Choccies, Johnno 37 and The Gimp, whilst also being guided by his mentor Old Moz. Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year. Love The Duke :D

Do you have trouble reading Hillbilly??

1. Terminator said he was taking 14 new players to maccy
2. I said that it would be better to focus on locals
3. Aceman said the locals aren't interested - go for recruits
4. I said thats crap - stick with locals

Now you can choose to disagree with what I've said but don't insult the readers on here and say that 3. and 4. are the same thing.

No suggestion of any affiliation Old Moz. This is a treat of many great leaders, it is unknown to them the influence that they have on others, it come's instinctively. It has been noted that you have helped Termy through his tough times by improving his literacy skills. I think that Termy looks to you as a big brother and treats you with the upmost respect.

Firstly, this site is for everyone, not just Hills people; secondly, I have had an involvement in Hills footy so I do know a bit about it, thirdly I know that you and your kind are in the minority and may well be one of the reasons your club is/has struggled for years.
If this is not the direction YOU want the club to head in, put your handup and do something about it instead of getting on here and bleating about the committee appointing a coach that is prepared to bring in some new guys to hopefully make things happen. See if you can make a DIFFERENCE by making a constructive contribution to the district club you speak so lovingly about.

Just on the Maccy subject troops, who is coaching their reserves and juniors??

Just my 2c on SJ. He will put some noses out of joint, but IMO, he will be good for the club. Could be just the rocket it needs. Hopefully, the locals have a major input on the field as well.

1st- This strongly implies that the locals are not interested - sorry!
2nd - I couldn't give a rats-arse about Maccy - I was initially commenting on the recruitment of 14 new faces to a small country footy club
3rd - Don't confuse such recruiting with anything other than self-promotion and glory seeking
