He was beat half a length. He lobbed in third place after the start but was checked going through the catching pen the first time losing momentum and a couple lengths and i thought all chance but he picked himself up and chased the leaders down only to be beat right on the line with good victorian form. So yes i really cant wait til he gets over 700m now ;)

The owner or part owner of Phil's Pride was in the Berri Hotel yesterday, giving everyone the tip that it would win but at short odds.

I sat quietly with my 20EW on dog 3

We started sponsoring races last year and started with our own maiden series but found there were already a couple of maiden series held at Gawler. We found out the Christmas Cup didnt have amajor sponsor this year so decided that we would sponsor this race.

Our goal now is to make the Christmas Cup Bigger and Better every year from now on.

Was a great night with a very good crowd i believe.

May have to arrange a FATHER CHRISTMAS appearence for next year though!!

Being on the Gawler Committee now it was my first time working behind the bar and i must admit it was most enjoyable getting to chat to alot more trainers/owners & punters that i normally wouldnt get around to having a yarn to.

Blades brother Hercules (ROYAL RYLES) arrived home today after a 6 month spell after major surgery. No expectations on him at all to make it back to the track but considering his freakish ability we at least have to give a shot and if he doesnt make it back we will certainly breed with him in the future.
