sorry hawk but i think you are a liar, there is know way that someone tryed to take a hanger on you 20 seconds after the siren.
maybe a second or 2 but there is know way on earth it would have been 20 seconds i reckon the umpire would have the ball back in his hands after about 10 seconds.

that's a bit harsh mate.................I don't think he is a liar....................exagerating maybe!!

I'll prefix this with saying I've played against and known some hard and fair footballers over 15 years from hackham, but the prevailing attitude at your club, is dirty and undisciplined play. I'd be really surprised if you could actually judge the difference between hard and dirty play and will accordingly take several pinches of salt.

:D

i agree with jimmy and piccachus comments to..just didnt want to be the one to say it :)

OK sorry boys, it probably wasnt 20 seconds, and it wasnt the final siren so nobody was shaking hands. and it was at CBC. Somebody kicked it after the siren so it was long enough to realise the siren had gone. Ive only been at Hackham for the 2008 season but saying we're dirty is just a load of crap... its amazing how there was not one report against us this year, and if i remember correctly there wasnt even a send off. (dont hold me to that tho). Having a year like we did it would be easy (and common) for teams to start swinging and taking cheap shots but I saw none of that which is a credit to the boys. Its just stupid to pretty much label us THUGS. Just petty crap. From what Ive seen here everybody from the most senior player to the U/18s that play up attack the ball at least as hard as the opposition (no dirty shit).

Admittedly I didn't see a smackham game this year, but even if your team did only play the ball this year, it will take at least 3 or 4 years of the same to lose the reputation. Players hitting umpires, kicking people in the stomach,
tripping, belting people with their backs turned. Mud sticks as they say.

If your remonstrations are true, which I would applaud, it might just be the first step towards regaining a good club culture which was squandered many many years ago
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Well Im sure the people that did all that stuff are long gone. And its rediculous to hear opposition players calling us thugs and scum at half time. Especially when we have U/18s playing up and copping it for something that happened 10 or so years ago. There is not one player in the current A or B grade sides that I would think would do any of the things you just said happened.

I think a team should be judged on their last season.

Result wise it wasnt good, but a massive improvement on 2007, cutting almost every losing margin in half, 37 goal turnaround in one case.

Disepline wise I dont think you could ask for a better result. No reports, no punch ons, no send offs. Not many teams can say that. Especially when you're provoked as much as we are.

And you cant really comment on our club culture because you're not involved at the club. Thats like me saying Brighton sit around watching The Saddle Club and brush each others hair all day...Thats the impression I get, but because Im not there I cant really comment on it. No offense Brighton boys

I've played and coached against hackham well over 20 times. The incidents I've mentioned are all from the last two games against hackham I've seen or played, except I didn't see the umpire incident with Nobesy; but seeing him coach u/14's says a lot about club culture .... nuff said.

If you can turn the club around, I'll be the first one to applaud.

Well as I said the people that do that shit arent involved at the club and we dont have any time for people like that. The disipline was so good this year that players were dragging themselves if they gave away 50m...It just goes to show how dedicated and unselfish the Hackham faithful really are.

Good luck, but don't expect the opposition to forget the past immediately. It will take several years of honest play before the opposition stops calling your team

I have just read this load of tripe for the first time today, Hackham, The once off incidents you have mentioned are the exeption not the rule. I know the incident you are talking about with the young bloke. And our guy didn't jump in his car and drive off, It was undisciplined and he copped his suspension. He probably didn't feel like copping it from your supporters after doing what he knew was wrong. By your description you think he should have got involved in a fight with the crowd or other players in order to prove he was tough. There are many incidents that you have overlooked when it comes to Incidents between Havens and CBC. But for me to point them out would make me as petty as you.

Jimmy with reference to the snorkel comment, 10 years ago the complete revamp of the drainage system has now made our oval well drained in the odd chance that it rains in Adelaide. Not sure how long since you played there, but totally different now.

DE: I will let you take HH on now mate - I have no idea why I was sticking up for you Purple Dolphins anyway ;)

Re your oval - I was only taking the pi$$ - I enjoyed a couple of your snags standing in the grandstand on a very wet and windy day this year - the oval held up - you played well and won.
Plus we are the last ones to sling off at ovals and changerooms matey....
