Great wins last 2 days by the boys. Showed a lot of character and fight. Unfortunately NSW A's have already won the tournament with 1 day to play. 4 teams on 2-2, showing how tight the comp is. Hopefully we'll come away with a win tomorrow and finish the tournament off on a high note. Strong learning curve for the boys who haven't played on turf. Great bunch of blokes, having a ball.

Pidgey, what happens on tour stays on tour son, time to put your hand up next time son.. ;)

AW, hope you enjoyed the 6 page epic mate.. ;)
it is a simple question perhaps to simple for some who is using the family brain cell now just be carefull what you say little boy well done to the players great stuff at the end

Look here TOOL, if you want to question the selection process, how about going through the appropriate channels instead of posting garbage on a public forum and hiding behind anonymity?!? Otherwise shut your uninformed trap and crawl back under the rancid little hole you obviously emerged from.

Well my good friends, we have another week before proceedings begin once again, how do you think the sides will go when they come back? It is shaping up to be a cracker of a finish to the already suberb season.

Very important games on the 10th, Paralowie meet Para Vista in a crucial game for Paralowie, will be interesting to see if they can scrape together a full side.. Para Vista expected to announce the return of champion quick Oldman back from the states..

Fitzroy vs Rose Park is easily the match of the round, this result could determine how the seasons end up, expect Fitzroy to be back to full strength and tough to beat, but never doubt the underdog a big game from R.P big guns could see it sneak another upset.

Morialta vs N.E.K is another which could go either way, tough to pick but i think N.E.K is a far better one day outfit with its big hitters..

Too right mate, the guys gave it their all and should be proud of their efforts. In the end, it was a steep learning curve for the majority of the playing group, who have played very little turf cricket in their careers. The standard of the competition was much higher than the previous Carnival in Adelaide, with all of the teams pretty much evenly matched, apart from the NSW 2 side who weren't quite up to scratch. Give them credit though, they battled their butts off all week and were a good bunch of blokes on the whole.

Congratulations to Marc Cossens for his selection as the All-Australian wicket-keeper. He was by far the best performed 'keeper during the course of the week, and his glovework standing up to the stumps to every bowler except for Vines had to be seen to be believed. His leg-side catch standing up to the pegs off Holland on Day 4 was nothing short of magnificent. Congratulations also to our vice-captain Shaun Holland, who showed great leadership batting at 3 for the last 4 days and bowled 1st or 2nd change with the heart of a lion. He accumulated 95 runs at the #3 spot and took 12 wickets, including an inspired 5/21 against NSW 2, and thoroughly deserved his A-A selection and baggy green cap.

Last but not least, special mention must be made to the skipper, Richard Marshall, for the way he led the troops over the course of 5 days, particularly after being dismissed for nought on both of the first 2 days. He led the way with the bat from there on, and with luck, could've turned his scores into big ones. Primarily, his mental application across the full 5 days, despite his own personal doubts after 2 days of competition speaks volumes for the man. The boys found out how hard it is mentally and physically to play 5 days of representative level cricket and will be better prepared in those aspects in Sydney in 2010.

Happy New Year everyone and all the best in your Club matches during 2009. 8)

Para Vista in a very close game
Fitzroy easy

I respect your superpowers phantom but fitzroy at full strength, thats a long shot. True we might get a couple back but i think its a 50-50 between us and Roseys. Oldman back for Vistas is a big one. Ive always thought they were a bowler or two short of being a gun side.

Big congrats to the guys that received the AA caps, that's a great effort and you guys both really deserved it.

Its a pity the results don't reflect the amount of effort that all the boys put in every day and how well everyone got along. It will be very interesting to see the results of the next CUSA cup game if the all the guys are available and fit.

Para Vistas should take care of Mawson Lakes North
NEK unless something drastic happens will easily account for Morialta. My tip for Morialta is to see off Gorski and Balding and rip into the rest of the bowlers. Two really good bowlers but if you can see them off the rest arent much. We were 6/60 last game and made about 150 with our long tail.
Fitzies v Rose Park is a tough one. Touch wood we have a few ins and not so many outs. Roys in a close one.

Our tail is not long. It may have batted for a long time last game though. The 10th wicket partnership last game was 26 off 15 overs

Hmm not so sure about the NEK Morialta one, i think Morialta are a strong possibility and granted Gorski is a good bowler but i think quick runs can come from him, He enjoys bowling to short to often and the pace of his bowling will only help to see the ball travel quicker to the boundary. If Morialta can find someone comfortable with the pull/hook shot perhaps hes the man to attack? He will quickly lose it if things dont go his way..
