Not this time around although I have been plenty of other times!

I wish they would work harder to include more actual German cultural stuff at the event though as since it was moved from Hahndorf to Adelaide it seems to get less and less each year! I would like to see them spend some money and get the "Speigeltent" that they had for the Fringe one year as it might give it some German character - that and some decent German dishes like plenty of Metwurst, Potato Cake and Strudle might be a good start!

Don't go now that Im too old to chase skirt, but used to LOVE the Schutzy ... Would always top up then sit down with mates and have bets on who could hold the steins the longest and which one was gonna drop out next.

Just missed out on the Hahndorf era and was always spewing I never got to experience it.

Would always over-stock on the little bottles of Schnaps and still be pulling them out at Joppies in the wee hours of the morning.

Ahh to be younger again ...

I saw a bit of the Schutzenfest in the early days at Hahndorf, but it deteriorated and became less about the shooting and German culture and more about drunkeness.
In the end I was glad to see the end of the [already] drunk pulling up at my gate to ask, "Hey mate, where's the Beerfest!"

I'm heading along this year, I haven't missed it for 5 years. It's a great day out, although expensive.

Check out this guy on the side stage from about 7:30pm Saturday. He plays a mix of German and Aussie songs and is a gun. I haven't missed his set at the Shutzenfest for 3 years.

The Shitzenfaced should move back to Hahndorf. It was so much better up there. Have only been to one since it's moved - terrible, full of dickheads.

Heading town this afternoon before the soccer. have been the last 10 years, never went to handorf, remember the old saturday nights running up north tce blind to Joplins up stairs. Joplins should never have closed such a sad day.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.
