Ahh well there's your first mistake... you must have been at a different oval because we dont have clubrooms yet !!!

You did in 2004, albeit they were primitive

Bloody government funding - its just not fair how they give it and take it away....

At least the new oval is flat and smooth... the old oval was like playing on the road and I only ever taped my ankles when I trained or played there !! I remember in the early days walking the oval prior to the game with buckets of sand filling in holes...
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Played a game on Bridgewater this year and there was barely a blade of grass left afterwards. Best venue for footy is Milang. Not sure if we will ever get the opportunity to play there again.

Best
Hackham - Nice size and a very good surface
North Haven - A big oval that caters for a more flowing style of footy
Old Noarlunga - Great flat surface

Worst
Fitzroy - If the balls on the other wing, all you can see are heads and shoulders because its a pretty big hill
Lonsdale - Massive cracks and a couple of sprinkler heads
Lockleys - Had a baseball diamond cutting into one of the wings
Unley - About the size of a soccer pitch, and same dimensions too. Its a rectangle. Plus theres a massive slop favouring the western goals

Can definately add Mt Barker and Bridgewater to the disasters column. Kersbrook is in another column altogether(fixing it now i beleive). It would have to be the worst ova in SA, or at least was.

There are more craters on Fitzroy Oval then this is on the moon. Absolut joke of an oval for any types of sport. Ive heard that it was an rubbish dump back in the day.
My Favs would be:

Plympton- Home ground only before it gets all muddy though
Golden Grove- great surface, Nice Atco hut changerooms! (bloody long drive though).
Hawthorndene- Joan's Pantry accross the road

My most Hated!
BlackfriarsOS- You'd think for a private school, you would get a better oval and facilities than the rubbish parkland ground.
Greenacres- changerooms on other side of ground, Yatala Prison, end up losing money on the pokies!!

I'm surprised that nobody from the HFL has nominated the Birdwood Velodrome, oops, oval.

Hard to argue with you that it wasn't substandard but thankfully several tens of thousands of dollars have been spent on it and it has gone from being one of the worst ovals to one of the best and hosted the 2008 country division grand final.

When did that happen? We played them in a trial in March 2008 and it was pretty bad...there were big lines of sand the whole way down both wings...but im guessing that wouldve been due to drainage upgrades or something along those lines...am I right?
