No mention on Aloisi on that list???

Also glad to see Santalab out... don't want him on the Adelaide Oval again after his strike last year.

Was a good game, good atmosphere too. Personally i find the people in the crowd banging and waving those plastic balloon type things a pain in the backside though.

Ditto !

Very good result. Thought we played with cohesion for the first 30 minutes, but then seemed to control the game really well.
Sydney looked shite when going forward and didn't have any real chances....
Hate to say it but Sarkies had a good game..

Nice to meet Dogwatcher too last night ! Top bloke and hope the drive home is/was a safe one !

My wife & kids are with the in-laws by a Tassie beach for a few more weeks whilst I am back a work

So I am making the most of the opportunity to catch up with a few summer sports that other commitments usually stop me from attending.

Last night was the first of my planned live sports oddessy .. United v Sydney @ Adelaide Oval

Summer sport under lights at Adelaide Oval is a great setting. A clear night led to a very colourful sunset and view over the city.
The outer side looked awesome as a sea of red, was amazed just how many people had United shirts on. From North west pocket around to the Bradman stand there was little room except for direct behind sidescreen (why weren't these completely removed anyway).
As per normal the members side was a lot more sparse despite being unable to buy a ticket to the Bradman or any western grandstand.

Thought the crowd was faily quiet for a soccer game until the final 10 minutes when the second goal sparked everyone to life including six laps of the mexican wave.

As for the game itself
Frankly it was hard to tell from virtually ground level behind the goal (scoreboard pocket) just who was dominating and in what way.
Anyway for mine soccer is one of those games where the score does not always reflect the domination on the field, moreso the team that makes the most of its scoing opportunities.

It will be interesting to compare with another planned trip Hindmarsh on Wednesday week.

so one down six to go ....

Upcoming on PhilH's Sports Oddessy
Tues Jan 6 - 20/20 Cricket - SA v NSW @ Adel Oval
Wed Jan 7 - NBL - 36'ers v Hawks @ The Dome
Sat Jan 10 - Gridiron SA Rd 11 @ Pines Hockey
Wed Jan 14 - A-League - United v Qld @ Hindmarsh
Fri Jan 16 - WNBL - Lightning v Townsville @ The Dome
Sat Jan 17 - Gridiron SA Rd 12 @ Pines Hockey

I thought it was a good night but then a night event at Adelaide Oval is always a great night to be had. Looking forward to April for Rugby 7's!!

My highlights of night was actually getting into casino with a hat on and thongs. saw a few in there with their blue wife beaters on and rubber thongs. I still remember the days of a collar shirt, dress pants and unscuffed shoes!!!
