Hey Boys 2009 is finally hear so good luck to all in Div 4 & my the best team win!
First training for the year out at Fitzroy tonight & not bad numbers but some interesting new so u all may as well hear it from someone at the club rather than speculate that Josh Coulter will no longer be playing for Fitzroy in '09 as he has had an offer that is too good that he could not refuse from Mypolonga (im led to beleive) & had to do what is best for him & his family, so as very disappointing this is for our club i do wish the bloke all the best!

Thats not great for Fitzroy as Coulter was very dominant against us last year.
Has Ben Hart been training?

Welcome to 09!

Wow, that is a massive massive loss for Fitzroy! With their form late last year and a few handy pick-ups I had them top 3 this year! I still feel they will make the finals but will not be as dominant as first thought. Will this have any effect on any of the other Fitzroy players playing this year Roaring Lion?

On another note, Pooraka starts training this Monday the 12th of January. How often are the other teams in Div 4 training at this stage in the year? I know Golden Grove were 3 a week. Anyone else???

We do 3 a week and have done since November, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but Friday is more of a social outing (from what I've heard...). We will do 3 a week until March when we scale back to 2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and get into the normal season routine.
The 3 sessions a week contain mostly sessions on ball work and light running with a few wednesday sessions at Tennyson Beach and Modbury pool for triathlons to break it up. I dont think the guys mind doing 3 a week especially when alot would normally do their own stuff those days anyway. But the important thing is the numbers are definitly there, the enthusiasm is there and everyone is keen...
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

PAOC start this coming monday at the school on the back oval, and will train twice a week. hopefully a heap of the young lads that arent heading to sanfl clubs head out. and from what a little birdy tells me we have got one of the lads we were after but, my birdy was stil only 70/30 sure so will see if he attends training.

bad luck on coulter there RL but i think with pearcey he should still give the roys an extra boost and imo make the finals.

Yeah the all the boys were pretty disappointed when they found about Coult's decision but shit happens & he had to make the best choice for him & his family so a big offer & sign on fee like that is pretty hard to knock back but he should have fun driving 1-1.5hrs each way for training & playing. I think its Mypolonga down in the Murray Bridge League not Myponga in the Great Southern but i could be wrong.
Pearce is still training he is a great pick up for the Roys & has fitted in well, Hart is training plus a few other new boys who are having a look & we are training x 2 nights a week Tuesday & Thursdays with good numbers & we should still have a very competitive side in '09.

no.
As well as losing Coulter, we've gained no recruits.
Very disaoppinting outlook for 2009, Roaring Lion & myself to make up numbers in the A's, & the 'Roys to go winless....
