I have heard that they have signed 8 players from Ramblers, but no one can name those 8. So far i have been told Vines and Fishook are new to the club from Seaton.

I was also told that Shaun Jakobson is back there after one week with Kilburn. The sign on fee he was offered wasnt supplied.

if fishook is out there
then that is a good pick up for them!
wasnt a bad player, should dominate div 5!!

He is quite talented, but was very lazy whilst playing for Seaton. He may be able to get away with that somewhat playing Div 5.

I would be surprised also if he was getting 500 a game at Cobdogla, doubt there would me many if any players in the Riverland on that coin in both RFL and Indipendants. Indipendants that would be lunacy.....

I reckon he was getting $400 or something close to...
Begs the question how much is a Mail Medallist worth to recruit to your club?

I wouldnt even beleive that. Have you seen Cobdoglas Oval?? The changerooms wouldnt be worth $400. There is not as much money as there used to be up there either because of water allocations. I'll put my nuts on the block and say there would not be a single player in Indipendants on anywhere near that sort of coin, it's a D7 standard league. maybe I should go up there i'd get a cool $200 a week and i'm a hack ;)

Cobdogla - a beautiful part of the desert - he would feel at home if he went to Eastern Park instead

I couldnt think of where he played last year..... He may not get the $500 he got from them at Rosewater.

Ivery much doubt even a player with the skill as brad would have been getting as much as that at cobby

I reckon that number is close but it includes the "sign on" figure + a Mail Medal bonus. Game dollar around $300.

At his age now you wouldn't want to pay him too much, or if you do you're silly.

Very good player he is but if they are spending that they could get better players. Hints why I beleive it's greatly dramatised. Also its gone from 500 to 300.... My tip would be lower.

I think you'll find Shaun Jake's return had nothing to do with a sign on fee (which was promised) but more to do with the fact he wants to play at Rosies with his mates, has been there all his life and the old mans a life member!

if that standard is seen as a div 7.
would he be much chop in a div 4-5 club.

i have never seen him play and by no means am i saying hes not worth it but wandering how much of a jump it would be between the divisions and would he be able to play the same brand of footy in a team that is rumoured to be 2-3-4 divs higher?

He's a class player, would slot in nicely down at Rosies either in the middle or up forward! May have slowed a bit but you have to expect that when you get to his age!!

first 3 km time trial down at rosewater
1. robert cains
2. chris arnott
3. mark quinn (back to the club after a long spell)

all ran good times

There is a strong chance Brad Horsell will play for Rosewater next year. The former St Pauls coach and last years Mail Medallist has been in extensive talks with the club. I think Portland are keen on him also but are yet to contact him.

We have touched base. He knows we are interested in him. I still think he has a bit to offer us in D3, he's not sure though.
