After the Adelaide v Wellington Phoenix match at Hindmarsh earlier this year, my brother in law and I caught the train back from the city to Elizabeth (last train). The last bus had already left and no taxis would come, so we walked across to Marcellina's Pizza and ordered a pizza and then asked them to give us a lift home. It worked - didn't cost us extra either.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Best Pizza I've had is from Paradise Pizzeria closely followed by Dernancourt & Rostrevor Pizza Bars.

Lumpy's on Hampstead Road and Leos on Prospect Road.

On a recent holiday in Queensland, we had the best pizza we have both ever tasted (different pizzas) at Bella Venezia in Mooloolabah.

In Japan you cannot get great pizza like you have in SA.
I hate to say it but the best bought pizza I have had here was from Pizza Hut in Nagoya. Costco in Fukuoka do the 2nd best that I have tasted. But as I said, nothing like the privately owned pizza shop in Adelaide. Australian pizza is premier league stuff compared to this.
If anyone on here has travelled Japan and had an especially good pizza please post it. I'd be happy to travel to whatever part of Japan it's in to get a taste of decent pizza.
Common Pizza Errors in Japan:
Crust:
Too stretchy, like they have used rice powder in the mix or something.
Too dry, like a sao cracker biscuit.
Too thin with an air pocket in the middle, like pitta bread.
Too bread-like and thick, some bakeries just bake normal bread dough and throw topping on it.
Topping:
Corn, Mayonnaise, soy sauce.
Too much cheese, everything becomes soggy and falls off.
Cheddar cheese.
Not enough cheese (the bakery-style bread pizza).
Menu has only two or three toppings to choose from.
Sauce doesn't blend with the cheese ie. proportion of cheese to sauce ratio is often wrong.
Sauce has no character.

I make a pretty decent pizza starting from the raw ingredients. It has been so long since I have eaten an Adelaide pizza, so it is hard to compare, but I think I may be around the mark after about three of four years of experimentation. These past couple of weeks of holidays I have made about ten pizzas. Love it with a Chianti or a Grenache.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

I must admit, I used to think nothing beat a lamb sandwich (sorry Theri) at the end of long night on the Gas, but Pizza Rev has definitely changed that way of thinking ... Last few times I've been there they've been about to close and they offload the last batch really cheap.

Always good to wake up the next morning with about 5 boxes of pizza lying around the place lol.

As a kid I remember my dad deciding that he and mum would have a late night snack.
I'd hear him ordering a pizza - "I want an Inferno mate and make it bloody hot".
Pretending to be asleep until the pizza arrived wasn't much good because the Inferno was always too hot for my young mouth!

My brother ordered an inferno as a kid after being told to get a supreme, he had to eat the whole lot whilst the old man ordered another one, he was sweating his ring off.
