Having seen Duminy's catch on hi-lights it is a very good catch. To be considered one of the best of all time is a bit much though. There have been many catches taken in the past that are better than that.

Duminys catch was a cracker but the one he missed a couple of overs later sure did bring him back to earth ;) .

Duminy's was a brilliant catch and will probably knock off Pontings slip catch earlier for the catch of the year but yes there has been a number of better ones nover the last 100 years or so.

J Dyson a few years back along with G McGrath's would take some beating too!
Now that is just plain dumb, don't you think?

I don't really think that you can compare outfield catches to infield catches, it's like comparing a dive from a 10m platform or a 2m springboard. One relies on timing, balance, body position, judgement and landing, the other is hand-eye co-ordination, reflexes and landing.

Ponting's catch is right up there as far as slips catches and Duminy's would rival Dyson's or McGrath's.

very true LM and i think when we talk about the best catches, there probably should be the outfield and the infield/slips seperation! I think adam dale's is the best outfield catch i have ever seen
