First training for Pooraka last night in 09, good numbers and a hard training. Very enthusiastic group so should be a good season. We play a trial game against Para Hills in March. First time in a few years that we have had a trial game against a side in a higher division.

It was not the great man Picapoo who told me. The bloke in question cant understand why everyone dislikes the coach? He said he thought he came across very well and was gonna be good for the club.

I'm wandering out for a run tonight................so I'll let you know my first impressions. Not that mine mean much!![/quote]

We just had a team meeting to discuss some team rules/structures and some set plays. Numbers weren't too bad considering it was bloody HOT!!
Piccachu wasn't there but I know he wants to be. ;)

Any news on Greenacres? Has the financial crisis slowed their recruiting?

well all old scholars can be members at the gym and the pool is connected to that so, its a win win. i suppose. now if only we could convince the counsil to let us upgrade the change rooms, everyone would be happy!

We had about 50 blokes at training yesterday evening, unheard of for this time of year.
Solid ballwork session, couple of new blokes. We will be strong this year for sure.

Dolphin, I think you're being a bit coy there.... a couple of new blokes? You also didn't mention the 500 that came out just to watch the training

I assumed FC was dribbling a little but if you had 50 blokes out to training at this time of the year or any time for that matter...........it's a good effort.

I was pretty surprised, sure we've had decent numbers like that later on in pre-season but never this early.
Not sure what it will equate to but makes training alot easier on us older blokes.
