CRICKET - one day series

Postby mighty_tiger_79 » Fri Jan 16, 2009 6:54 am

Australia v South Africa MCG - 15th jan

Betfair offering Duminy v ponting - can currently get ponting at $1.95 at -0.5 - think he will do the job there

gibbs v amla - think amla at -0.5 will do the job, has the abillity to bat for a long period of time, Gibbs past his best and gets impatient and plays recklessly

I scratched my chin over the 5/2 offered at the start of the Saffies innings, did'nt go with it. Then at 35 overs was too lazy to get my betfair pass thingy out of the office to have a lazy 20 on. Hate to think what the odds were then. That's worse than losing.

Even though the Saffies looked in all sorts of strife the other night, they do bat down to their ankles & won on their ear in the end. Thought the 2/1 way pretty generous on BF this morning & took it.

Told my old man I'd backed the Saffies today, he said I was mad because how would they get the crowds up for the rest of the series if SA were 2zip.
Such a doubting Thomas.

Bit of a quandry, take the 6/4 the inform Saffies or cop the ridiculous less than 2's on the Brackenless Aussies. The cynic in me believes that Cricket Aust, Channel 9, KFC & Toyota demand a result that will guarantee out of the park ratings come the last game.

So, to be a true Australian on our very own day I'm waiting around for someone on Betfair to give me 50's the tie for a small wager.

as un-Australian as it sounds, backing the Jarpies is the way to go- almost gift-like

I reckon there is a massive advantage to the team batting second with the new powerplay rule, one most bookies have grabbed onto. Hence Im going to sit out and bet in play and if I can get over evens for whoever is batting second Ill pounce

going in for the night session so will give me an interest also
