PHOS n Broadview

You would probably know more about PHOS than most but if you're right about them I would think PNU would be before Broadview.

Have PNU recruited really well? Would need a few big inclusions to be a GF favourite from not making the finals in 2008.

I've heard PNU have picked up the best and fairest from birdwood and one of their other top players. A few from Gaza have also signed with PNU.

Did Birdwood have a "best & fairest??? I thought Johnno had taken them all with him.

They certainly arent recruits Jimmy. Would hardly be a player amongst them except perhaps Martin who can actually play at a decent level. Most of the others are very ordinary players. Byrne is over rated and not fit enough and the others are just no bodies who play ordinary football, Some have high skill levels but there is a distinct problem in getting the "aggot" in the first place for most of them as they reach for the football and certainly would not put their bodies in a straight line with the ball or the ball carrier

Just out of interest why do you believe there's a correlation between "college" and "soft".

I'm sure the Assumption College boys that go on to play AFL aren't soft. That's just one example. Just because, in general, college sides aren't dirty they get branded as soft by District sides that normally have at least one psycho that goes head hunting.....

There is not much difference hardness wise in Div 1 & 2 between the college and district sides. Most of the div 1 & 2 sides are quick, skillfull and hard sides which = a good side. The quicker the lower district sides stop recruiting meat heads and start recruiting blokes that can play and are at the club for the right reasons the quicker they will get upto div 1 & 2.

Yep, PNU picked up Paul Lowe, a good little player for us over the last few years and disappointing to lose him after his best year with Birdwood.

I'm not sure who the other player is that you're talking about though.

Anyway, getting back to something about div 2 and not personal bickering, yes Darnell was at Gum but has returned. Hopefully Ashby is coming back too although would be on NO cash if he did I would say.

I honestly believe he would star at div 1 level. Has the ability to play league footy. Spoke to Pesch after last years GF and he was adament he belongs at a league club...good luck getting him motivated to do that tho...

Saw some of training last night at Broadview Oval, almost 40 on the track. Skillwise we look pretty confident, picked up some real solid blokes by the look, should help make a prescence in Div 2, all looking ok at this stage. Can't wait to watch how they go this year. Not putting ourselves right up there now, but it looks like an exciting season ahead.

Not sure mate, i know he has been talking to both clubs involved, us and Willaston. Given us a huge amount of service and we would love to keep him on the park, especially this year with a ripper team by the looks of it, but as usual, how can you compete agains the money on offer.

Shouldn't you be out doing 100 x 100's or lifting some massive amount of weight..........
