33.5, 24th of January 1982. 34.7 was recorded at Parafield Airport the same night, and as far as I know, the Australian record is 35.5, at Arkaroola, on that same evening.

Actually Sabre it's surprisingly common for fire bans to coincide with flood warnings. The most common month for floods is February. I actually monitor a lot of stuff like this and I can think of two other occasions when total fire bans have coincided with flood warnings, and the BoM only started issuing flood warnings as alerts 2 years ago in Jan 07.

As it turned out, the highest minimum temperature was broken last night. (33.9) This was the highest minimum temperature recorded in South Australia last night.

The previous high minimum temperature for the 29th of January was 28.3, set in 1951.

The maximum today at the moment is 43.4, which beats the 29th of January record of 41.2, set in 1985.

Edit: The previous hottest Thursday minimum was 32.7; on Thursday the 3rd of January, 1991.

2nd Edit: This has been the hottest three day period on record (44.1) avg. Previous average was 43.3, 4-6 January 1906.

True at present, but with the tectonic plate running through Indonesia, then north of New Guinea, then arcing down towards NZ, having been active in several places the eastern seaboard may be at some risk in future.
