ODI Australia vs South Africa at the WACA

Postby hearts on fire » Wed Jan 28, 2009 3:07 pm

It is on January 30 at the WACA. It is a dead match and really means bugger all.

South Africa are playing debutants Lonwabo Tsotsobe and Wayne Parnell.

Australia should give a couple guys a crack and see what there like, no use playing White and co if they do nothing.

Result: RSA will win..... in a tight one.

Kallis being rested too, van Jaarsveld (sp?) in.

The way we're going, even if they debut three guys, we'll still probably lose. I actually hope we go down. If we do manage to scrape a win, we'll have to listen to the media claiming we're still the best team in the world because the ICC rankings say we are.

Totally Agree, White is finished and is boring to watch get him off and blood some much needed youth into the team. Could some one fill me in on our own Shaun Tait? Must be unfit. Can't string anymore than two over together now days.

Most members of the media are the first to bag the Aussies. Wait for all the knives to come out after this series.

Australian supporters have been spoiled over the past 10 - 15 years, by being able to watch such a champion team. Now we come back to the pack everyone gets upset. It happens in every sport. It's a vicious cycle ;)

Tait out, being "rested". Second time he's been rested already this series. Seriously why bother?

It's hard to understand isn't it?

Is he working on his aerobic fitness at all?
Is it that hard for him to get through 10 overs?

At the moment he only seems to have a couple of express pace overs in him and then it tails off.
There's already been murmurs about him only playing limited over cricket in the future and that seems pretty likely.
I can't see him getting a Test again, unless his fitness really picks up.

Taity is being rested now because they dont want to overwork him and he had a limited Preparation when he came back in to the side. i get the feeling the selectors and especially Ricky Ponting want him in the test squad for South Africa

Yes, it's a pity idiots in media (i.e. Peter Roebuck) spent so much of their time looking for negatives in the Australian team that their brilliance almost passed unnoticed in their eyes.

It is such a shame really. He doesn't want to play Shield/Test cricket anymore and now he can't even get up for a couple of one day games. Which means he's just going to end up being a T20 specialist and if so why would CA keep him on the books?

Sadly I can't see him playing Test cricket again either. I love his bowling at full tilt but he just keeps breaking down or when he plays loses his venom after his first spell. I don't know how he thinks he'll cope in the IPL if he can't string more than a couple of one day games together either.

You would think if you are going to play Taity anywhere, it would be at the WACA.

I agree totally.
His bowling is suited to the WACA
You would think that as they have had hot weather recently as well that the pitch would be hard and flat, perfect conditions for him

P.S. nice signature LM!!

tait.....honestly wot a joke........

doesnt wanna play test

doesnt wanna play shield

cant come up for a string of onedays

appears buggered after his first spell

immediately drops paces and accuracy after 3 - 4 overs

admit he can bowl with real venom and quality but gee he can be such a liabaility at times, you really have to question his fitness, preparation and motives.........there is no way on earth that guy in his current state should ever play test cricket again............

No chance Tait will be in the Test team. He hasn't got the consistency to ball more than 10 overs. Plus he can't bat and his fielding isn't the greatest.

Tait is useless, he is currently the worst player playing cricket in Australia.
