handy player starry, would have liked to have had him down our way to add a few goals to our forward line. presume money was on offer at greenacres though.
seems we are likely to lose a few to the mighty dollar, clearances should liven up in the next few weeks i suspect.

Actually money had nothing to do with it (family ties) and I'm pretty sure he isn't getting paid. He's not the sort of bloke that walks away for coin anyway.

fair enough. a lad i know from your club said that was the type of loyalty you guys have up there which is great.

not sure too many would agree with me but it would make for a more interesting competition if the money wasn't flying around like it does. idealistic maybe but i'm a bit old fashioned that way.

we had a young lad who moved after our first year to another club for some money each week. from my recollection he didn't play too much a grade, the club did relatively poorly and he sat out of footy the following year, what a waste of a pretty reasonable talent at our level of footy.

You know Enzo right?

Can't say I know of anyone ever leaving for money at the club? Maybe that says more about our pool of talent over the years :D

Can't be an easy decision to make, you'd probably regret it for life if the team you left won the flag and you didn't get to share in that with your mates. Them's the breaks though.

All players need to wise up with respect to changing clubs, promises, clearances, expectations, facilities, etc & not sign anything until they are absolutely sure it is the right move and is always better to leave until last possible week, as all to often they sign a clearance, then realise it is not what they want or expected & want to return to original club after only a couple or even no games (playing 2 trial games for a club also is an indication of commitment allowing the club to claim these players under saafl rules) only to find that they now are held for outstanding fees from the new club.
Reverse is also done with clubs stating supposed fees outstanding and a lot of deals are also done, no subs etc and again players need to be smart and request a current financial membership card or a receipt to state that they are paid up members to protect themselves as sometimes the game playing starts well before the season does!

yeah enzo and i were in the same year at blacks, pretty handy soccer player he was back then as well. hadn't seen him until 2006 when our lads played houghton. he was very gracious GF day.

agree its a tough call. seems clubs have got some persuasive people when it comes to getting in the ear of players from time to time.

Your birthdate in your profile is wrong then. Go to the homepage and scroll to the bottom, see it says 'Happy Birthday TIRED TIGER'. Oh well, demand free drinks anyway

Gotta be slightly insane to coach in the first place ;)

Go to your User Control Panel (top of page under safooty banner) and then go to Profile (left hand side of page), you can edit your birthdate there.
