RULES
The duration of the competition 19th August - 11th November 2006
This competition will CLOSE at 11.30 am AEST each Saturday (NO EXTENSIONS) and only messages posted underneath Spring Competition 2005 will be accepted.
Members will post selections from the Nominated Races(table below shows races and dates which will be refined to the exact race names every Thursday)and their Best Bet and Best Quin from races listed below in the table. As well as Own Selection from any Metropolitan race Meeting in Australia.
2 x Best Bet, 1 x Best Quin bet option must be a different race from the Nominated Races. As well as and 1 x Own selection. This will total 4 selections for each nominated day of racing for the Spring competition.
Members are to have a WIN selection for the Any Group Races Australia Wide
Quinella combination must not include one of your Best Bet selection.
Quinella bet is to have ONLY Two horses in the selection.
No Place Only Bets.
If your selection is scratched after you have nominated, members can resubmit ONLY prior to the 12pm deadline.
Weekly winner will be determined by the member with the highest return for the day. If there is a tie then the member with the most wins will be the winner, if there is still a tie then the member who submitted their selections earliest will be the Weekly winner
Each member's return will be determined using unitab dividends.
Winner will be member with the highest return over the Spring Competition.
To win any of the Prizes for the competition the members must have participated at least 10 weeks of the competition & not be a Sturt supporter.
The Judges decision is final.

Are you girls happy with this ?

Do we start this weekend ?
Is the Quinny bet ok with all or either make it a $5 bet or have a place bet instead ?
Do we include Melb Cup & Oaks day for a big 3 meeting finish to the comp ?

Any feedback will be appreciated, no whining after she starts.

So if everyone's sweet we can kick off on Saturday.

count me and scoob (emerg) in if you have room, my thoughts would be to have a place bet to eliminate bayman from any chance.....(someone fluking a big quinella) but Im easy.... what do you other guys think?
As a prize would we all put in a carton or $30...... any thoughts..... Would be a GREAT PRIZE WINNING 20 CARTONS OR 10 cartons and $150 ect.... just a thought.

Room for all grubby, can do with the place bet, just give it till Friday morn in case any one else has a difference of opinion.
I'm quite happy to go with it.
Prizes are whatever, I'm happy to chuck in a toon, the prestiges the ducks guts.

This is yours to look after Sheik, but what I'm suggesting is 2 categories-
Best return for investments per $ outlaid (allowing dunces like me to jag a decent quinella & win)
Best strike rate (rewarding the pro who consistently selects winners)

I'm in (as you will've noticed, I made this a "Sticky"), I'll get the jist of it once the ball gets rolling.

I would vote to not have any quinella bets - the chance of the winner coming from the one person who flukes a quinella at big odds is quite high.

OK, I'll enter the official thread & rules tomorrow morning, any other suggestions ?

We'll go with
2 group wins
1 Group Place &
1 Own Win Bet.

So if you want to scrap this thread & make tomorrows a sticky Punk, that'd be good.

Quinella bets - get rid of it out of this assingment.
I am also a bit disadvantaged in that the early races in Australia meetings are in the middle of the night, over here in the UK. If a scratching occurs I may be unable to re-post a new selection.
