No sexy times with the missus though, hence the session on here.

Saw the Punk Rooster running on the beach tonight but when I yelled out oi punky you fat prick he didn't hear me. I love you punky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Shrek the MB's & Sparkling King Browns must of hit you bit harder than what you thought or the 40'+ day did mate as you must of been seeing a mirrarge if you think you saw The Punk Rooter was runninig as for him not hearing ya's selective hearing me thinks??

Oh thanks for the offer of refreshment stop of beer on our run back as was very thoughtful of you boys i ended up walking as way too many good sites to take in! Lol ;)

It was at least a vigourous stroll!

There were plenty of sites along that stretch, not as many as at Henley or Glenelg, but that makes them stand out more.

Hello to Div 4!!! Ive been wasting many a lunch time reading through all the gossip of div4 and have been enjoying it.

Notice not much of a CBCOCFC presence on here!

Thought i would just list my thoughts although still early and based on my limited knowledge of the other teams.

No particular order

CBC- Have been getting consistantly 45+ out to every trainning and have got some handy pick ups and players returning. Jess Rivers is BACK and looks to be switched on again, very bad news for the rest of the comp.

Golden Grove - Seem very confident.... Did they see any of the other teams (div4) play in 08. Will be riding on a natural high with a Premiership and developments of their facilities.

PAOC - Early favourite and righfully so. I love playing these boys! Will be interesting to see how they recover from the straight sets loss. Am very sure will have the backroom staff working as hard as they can to recitify last years dissapointment!!

Nth Haven - Seem to have lost alot of players, from what has been said on here. But never an easy trip crossing that bridge and any side that has Wattsy playing for them will be competitive.

Pooraka - Not sure, depth will be worry again? But them and Portland were the teams that impressed me most last season (playing against CBC)

Green Acres - A great man once told me "Money wins you games not premierships". Will have alot of expectation and will be around the mark

Unley - ????? Will surely not dodge another bullet

Sailsbury West - Another team i really enjoy playing! Some epic clashes in 06 Div 4 cant wait to recindle the old flame. Heard there has been a clean out? Did not watch them last year no idea.

Adelaide Lutheran - Hopefully they havent appointed the coach that people were guessing he was on here.... if true not good for them. Were no push overs last year they took it to portland....

Fitzroy - Josh Coulter....... Hopefully it hasnt broken their backs will be interesting to see how they respond. Before he arrived last year they were struggling. But never had an easy game against them.

Thank god someone has finally started talking footy again on here! Well done Flipper :D

Very good thoughts too.
In you answer to Pooraka's question mark on depth, alot more new faces out on the track.
We have picked up prob around 5 players that will play A grade this year and retained most players.
Injuries and lack of momentum hit us in the second half of the year last year but I don't expect that to me an issue this year.
Hitting it hard on the track in the next month with lots of running and three nights a week.

My current prediction leaving us out of it, and in order would prob be:

PAOC: Too much talent to not make the top 3 again, and with the Roo being around the place could bring extra players. Will be strong in both grades

Greenacres: Seem to be throwing a lot of coin around, have picked up Parahills Ruckman (Div 3 ruckman of the year) should be around the mark.

GG: Lots of numbers on the track according to this forum. Only downfall maybe the fact that they are a very young side. Spoke to a guy who is involved in the juniors out there and he seems to think there seniors are all around 18-20

Fitzroy: The only reason they're this low is because the loss of Coulter, they will still be decent though.

CBCOC: Large numbers at trainging is good, but this could be largely to do with the celebrity status their coach brings to the table. Good numbers is one thing, quality players is another. May be the big improvers from last years Div 4.

Salisbury West: Have heard decent things coming out of Salisbury West, and resigning Conrad will be a plus. However only winning 2 games last year could mean their confidence will be easily deflated.

North Haven: If they have lost as many players as they have said to of, they will be certainly down the arse end of the ladder. Will still be tough at home.

Adelaide Lutheran: Their coach is the bloke who was involved with Walkerville last year, not the other bloke everyone has been talking about. Can't see much happening this year for them. Terrible oval too.

Unley: These guys won't dodge a bullett, they will run straight into them. There only real decent player was Matt Thomas and he's gone. Bottom 2 for sure!

Would love to here from others how their team is tracking!

Nice posts Flipper and FF. ;)

Not having seen alot of the other Div 4 sides it's hard for us at GG to comment even though we have played Lutheran, Greenies and CBCOC over the last 5 or so years but times change very quickly...

We have a massive amount of numbers out at Golden Grove with roughly 80 turning up to the 3 sessions per week at teh moment. Mostly ball work and running, mixed with pool sessions and beach sessions. Next week sees the first of our triathlons, then in late March we go back to 2 sessions a week. The core of the group is the same as lat year with a few decent inclusions including a Div 1 ruckman, a CDFC under 19's captain and some old juniors who have been playing SANFL at junior level. We are confident without being stupid about it, but we are also fully aware that the challenges are going to be huge and the standard alot tougher. We do have a very young squad but majority have now played senior footy for the last few years, some have been playing A's for almost 4 years so its not a new step for them. But things are looking promising but I guess there are 10 teams who all look good on the track this time of year so that's no real indication until the games begin !!
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Nice cans Choccies!

I can't believe you guys have that many players out at training! That is ridiculous! I don't reckon any Div 1 sides would have that many out there at this stage of the year! Does GG have an under 18's side? If not maybe you should!

Goldne grove will be very much around the mark!
having a side that is 18-20 can work in your favour ad if you can retain them for season 2010 you will have the ideal side IMo.
Portland were the same 3 yrs ago, strugling cause of a huge loss of senior players. Believe it was 13 starting A graders.
It was upto the under 17's to come up and avoid relegation, they did, the following year we were ok, but very inconsistent then 2008 showed that if you can keep your core group and add to it with a few quality players that Golden Grove have already by the sound of things, then who knows what could happen.
PAOC would be pre season favourites but there is a way to beat them as there is with every team.
You must harass the ball and the body for the whole game, every player will be exhausted by the end of the game, but if you can do that, they are very likely to crumble!

You know what i would love to hear about clubs top 5. Who they think will have their break out year! Might put a little caveat on it and say they have had to come from your Jnrs or played 2 years at the club. Lets give the club stalwarts bit of a pump up!!!

CBC
Jess Rivers - Has been plagued with injuries and lacked commitment. Things have changed! Played Div 1 footy and Ressies for Nth Adel

Josh Hegerty - Natural footballer broke down last year in pre season is a fitness freak

Nick Pilli - Last name too long to spell. Won our B&F fast with a big kick

Damian Keen - Has real troubles with fitness is a solid lad but can carry the ball over the lines and kick 50m

Chong Phan - The big asian bogan has been transformed into a backman and is a year older with more experience

What have you guys got??

We have under 18's already plus the addition of a D Grade side as well for 2009 so we have plenty of spots to fill !! Not sure how other large clubs do it but it's becoming a nightmare to fit all these guys on one oval to train and do some decent drills..... Our 2nd oval wont be ready till 2011 so we may have to put up with it till then...

I like where your heads at Flipper! I would have Greg Sproule in your top 5 though.

Well he we go for Pooraka's, would like to hear feedback on my top 5 choices, and maybe a couple I may have missed out on. In no particular order.

Dean Pead: Great hands, and our fearless leader. Div 4 team of the year VC.

Drew Hosking: Tough as nails defender, always does the job on the main forward.

Lee Coghill: Will be the standout Centre Half forward this year, built like a brick shithouse, can kick 50+ and will take 9/10 pack marks.

Anthony Paradiso: Quick as! Absolutely impossible to tackle this bloke too. Div 4 side of the year last year.

Adam Greaves: Huge ticker, second and third efforts can't be beaten.

Peady is a class act for sure. He tore us apart first time we played last year. He was one of our main focuses the second time around.

I wasnt that impressed with Paradiso when i saw him FF. He looked dis-interested in round 18, and still got named in your best that day !!! I know guys from other sides rated him though.

Hosking is a good defender, and Coghill will be very handy.

Welcome to the Boards Flipper.
Will be good to have a fellow Dolphin on the boards.

As for our training numbers. It is true that quality will only be determined by match conditions, however there is something to be said for skill and reputation also.

Our biggest test this year is to firm up our second tier players, this is normally helped by having large numbers to choose from and from that perspective we are in a good place.
