You're up there with Europe, Oceania, South America and poor old Antarctica...just hope you're not chasing Libya's record

Don't think I've ever seen a forecast temperature that hot before.
I haven't. It probably gets forecasted now and again in the WA Pilbara region.
In January 2001 both Ceduna and Wudinna had forecast temperatures of 48, and it got to that in both places.
I guess it depends on when the change comes or how much cloud cover tomorrow with these temperatures.

FlyingHigh wrote:Think they are only forecasting 38-39 for Ceduna. When the wind swings round to the South-west and come off the ocean, the temp can drop pretty dramatically - today it got to 46 just after lunch, and was 45 at 2.30, then by 2.45 it was only 30

spell_check wrote:There is some doubt for those African and American temperatures, I've read they are more likely to be 2c cooler than that. This is for the same reason that the Australian record was for a long time quoted to be 53.1c at Cloncurry in Queensland, it was supposedly measured under a verandah in a beer crate. The people of Cloncurry were not happy that their record was taken off them in about 2004.I actually just read the Wiki entry for Cloncurry and it tells you that there anyway.
